The Solo-20 tripod system consists of the DS-20 fluid head, designed to bring "Big Head" performance and professional features like Dynamic Fluid Drag control and an integrated Static Counterbalancing System, for today's lightweight DVCAM and DVC-PRO camcorders. Offers a sliding balance plate, independent Pan and Tilt locks, precision spirit level and integral 75mm ball leveling. The result is lightweight support that delivers superior performance.

Also included is the Solo carbon fiber spreaderless tripod, providing ultra light, rock solid stability. The Solo sets up quickly and securely to maximum 63" height and pack down to a compact 27" for transport. Selectable leg angle locks ensure rapid stabilization, while the 75mm diecast alloy bowl offers quick leveling, optimum torsional rigidity and long term durability.

DS-20 Fluid Head

Multi-Step Pan & Tilt Fluid Drag System
The multi-step Fluid Drag system ensures smooth, consistent fluid drag control across all temperature ranges and through a wide range of light and heavy settings. By being independent of payload weight, provides smooth "starts" and dead "stops" for precise framing without any backlash. The system is fully sealed within sub-assemblies for a leakproof, low maintenance life.
Preset Counterbalancing
Uses a special designed counterbalanced system, to neutralize the effect of payloads and their centers of gravity. The built-in preset counterbalance system optimizes tilt control in the intended capacity range.
Quick Release Camera Platform
Fitted with a precision, sliding quick release camera platform with self-engaging action. Ensuring rapid camera attachment, while the built-in safety lock guarantees camera safety during setup and pull-down.
Built-in bubble for horizontal leveling

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Yeah, I would recommend the Miller DV20 Great tripod for what I need all around. I shoot a lot of documentary dslr video and some better format stuff. A friend recommended it to me, I tried out his and loved it. Advantages: - pretty lightweight, I can easily bike with it and my camera bag - can fit into luggage when travelling on airplanes - super smooth and easily controlled fluid head - durable and can handle a wide range of weather real well - has a good height range - can support a wide range of cameras Disadvantages: - because it's lightweight it can get knocked around a bit in tight situations - twist locks take some getting used to but they work well Happy shooting

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 10LB minimum This is not a tripod package for a lightweight camera. So putting just a DSLR, no rails, cage, monitor, FF, Mattebox, etc.., on it is under-kill as this tripod really doesn't start to perform until there is weight upon the head. If your heaviest setup is under 10LBs then find a different tripod as you won't be happy with this as the head will be fighting itself when panning and the legs will lift up. The pan and tilt friction knobs will cause a shudder and squeak if you don't have enough weight upon the head when using them...however when weight of the proper range is put atop the tripod head, and the counterbalance is properly selected, the pan and tilt friction boost knobs do wonders at increasing the smooth motion. A good rule of thumb regarding the counterbalance selection switch is 12. If it's under 12 choose 1, if it's over twelve try 2. The legs seem well made and sturdy. This tripod can go very high and also very low...which is great for those dutch angles. This does very much seem like a tripod system you could take out into the field, forest, mountains and streams and come back happy with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing This tripod system is excellent. I mainly shoot with a 5dmkII with rails, audio gear, follow focus, etc that totals to at least 20lbs and this tripod handles it all with ease. This is lightyears better than my previous Manfrotto tripods (which were also good...this is just much better). The head is solidly constructed and the fluid head is buttery. It extends as high as I will ever need (camera is well over my head, and I'm 6 foot), and the leg locking system is easy to use, even with a loaded tripod. Suprisingly solid for having no spreaders.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome Tripod This is very nice tripod whatever 'head' or 'leg' both was awesome. but compare Sachtler DV-10 Fluid Head, DS-20 little bit tight when you tilt or pan, of cause DV-10 much much more expensive than DS-20. however this tripod maybe not the best tripod in the world but it was awesome, amazing for me and worth the price. when i received the item i started selling my old 1 and never ever touch it again :) i love this tripod miller DS20 With DV20 Carbon fiber leg P.S thanks B&H you guys done good job! will spend more $$$ for film gear sometime in future on this nice website.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not that great, drag unadjustable I just ordered this and am pretty disappointed. Despite what people are saying, it's *not* solid as a rock. There is substantial torsional flex in the legs which means pans always have some bounceback. This is compounded by the fact that the pan/tilt drag is very tight: and despite the appearance of variable friction knobs the fluid drag is NOT ADJUSTABLE. That is, the drag stays as it's shipped. Any fast pans and you're popping the legs off the ground because it's tight and can't be loosened. I was absolutely shocked when I began using it. The friction-add knobs are completely useless-- they ruin any smoothness you'd get from fluid by introducing low-quality *friction*, not increasing fluid drag. If you increase the friction high enough, response becomes sticky-- it pops (audibly!) when it starts and pops when it stops. It also begins to shudder if you pan very slowly while the friction is turned up. Using these knobs it's hard to even notice them doing anything at all, until they begin sticking and stuttering. Given all the good things people had to say, I am in utter disbelief with the poor quality! Yes, the head is very smooth, but the fact that it has only one drag setting (which is very high), awful friction adjustments, and torsiony legs, means that if you shoot anything long you're going to get bounceback on your pans. For the price, I have to give this a 2/5.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good fit for JVCHD! as someone who uses gitzos for ENG, this is an easy transition and even an improvment! Great stix...head is good for the JVCHD200. Super light and easy to use. Great value for the money!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Freaking Awesome!!!!!!! This thing is a beast. I can't get over how well it's designed. I have Bogen tripods that are twice the weight and seem flimsy. This thing is light and solid as a rock. The head is smooth as silk. I originally ordered this tripod because of it's ability to set low to the ground (so I could use it with my Indislider), but now I am replacing all my Bogen tripods with this beast. Bogen = a piece of junk compared to this rig. Worth every penny, trust me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Tripod This tripod is great for a medium weight camera/rig. I use a C100 on a slider and it locks it down with no problem. The legs spread out super wide to get some great stable low angle shots. The locks on the sticks takes a little getting used to but other than that, this tripod is fantastic for my needs.
