The digital camo Lens Cover for the Nikon 200-400mm VR/VR IILens from LenCoat is a 100% closed-cell neoprene coat that protects the lens from bumps and scratches. It is ideal for nature, outdoor photographers, sports shooters and photojournalists. It also provides a thermal barrier, protecting your hands from cold lenses in lower temperatures. The Digital Camo is an advanced computer generated camouflage pattern. It is modeled after the U.S. Army's standard-issue ACU pattern, which provides a pixelated pattern that maximizes visual break up. The pattern, constructed from small rectangular pixels of color, mimics naturally occurring dappled textures and rough boundaries. The cover is waterproof, providing protection in inclement weather.

Includes a clear, flexible UV-PVC window over the VR controls and the distance-scale window
Compatible with the Nikon 200-400mm VR/VRII lens

Lens Cover for the Nikon 200-400mm VR/VR IILens (Digital Camo) is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 31.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Protect that high dollar lens! I take great care of my equipment and when it comes time to trade it for a new version I can count on getting top dollar. I know this product will prolong the good looks of my Nikon big glass. The LensCoat slips on like a wet suit in all the places that tend to get smacked by branches or rubbed by rocks as you sneak into that perfect spot for a shot of a big bull elk. Installation is a snap. If you are putting the lens into a padded lens bag like the stock CL L2 the texture of the neoprene does tend to hang up on the bag as you pull it out. No big problem just don't try to fast draw the lens.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from O.K. but not great The fit is good but the set does not include a cover for the focus ring. This seems to make little sense since there is one for the zoom ring. To access the filter tray, you have to pull the cover up (no big deal) which includes pulling the knob through the small hole in the cover. Seems a possible fail point. Access to controls should be O.K. so long as you're not in a real hurry. The lens controls are under a vinyl window. You can see them and with a bit of care can be changed. You will need an allen wrench to remove the tripod foot - one is not included. I'd give this a C and can recommend it only if it fits your style of work.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Functional but needs some Redesigning I purchased this LensCoat for two purposes, one was for protection of the lens from splashes and scrapes etc in the wetlands; it does this very well. The second reason was to offer some camoufage when in the blind; again it does this rather well. BUT it needs to be redesigned around the Filter Tray, I sometime use the dropin Polarising filter, and as it is now you have to pull the cover right back on itself to gain access to this filter and there is no ablilty to rotate the filter when the cover is replaced back as currently designed. Perhaps a velcro flap would be a better solution!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Glad I bought it!! I was a bit apprehensive about forking over the $$$ for the Lenscoat covers but am really happy that I got them. The padding makes holding my large lens a lot more comfortable. The lens cover is particularly nice-much easier to use than the cover that came with the lens.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Offers excellent protection to bumps. Found it relatively easy to put on and in addition to offering a good deal of protection against bumps and scrapes, it also offers a better feel to handling especially in cold weather. I wouldn't recommend someone buying this cover to help with rain exposure as I don't think it was intended for that purpose. One of what I believe the rain coats would be better. I purchased the real tree pattern which not only looks good but does break up the visual here in the Northeast of New England.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very happy with my purchase This does exactly what it says - a little extra protection from knocks, scratches which means peace of mind for a very expensive lens. The cover is not one piece, but several separate neoprene sleeves, these go on without too much difficulty, and you can leave some off - for example I didn't put one on the focus ring on my Nikon 200-400mm as I like a precise touch. The neoprene is not super thick but it is well make with solid stitching. It does take a few minutes of push and pull adjustments to get all the bands set right, but this is not too big a deal. It also leaves the camera controls pretty accessible, other reviewers have grumbled a bit about access to the settings, but they are behind an easy to see clear window, and I am more the 'set it and forget it' type for VR. If you consider the cost of a high end pro telephoto lens, I think this is well worth the cost.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Protection This is the second lens coat that I have purchased, the first one for the Nikon 70-200 F2.8 which has saved numerous scratches over the last two years. This is cheap insurance for valuable lens protection. This fit the Nikon 200-400 F4 perfect and was easy to install. Great product protection!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well I like how this product protects the lens. I dont use all the parts and a couple are a bit fiddley. I have covered all my long lenses with lens coats (300mm, 500mm and 600mm) with camo for wildlife work but as this lens is for more urban work i went with the plain black.
