Two 1.8-micron aluminum ribbon transducers are mounted on top of each other in a 45-degree Blumlein stereo configuration. The result are stereo recordings with vivid, lifelike detail and transparent audio fidelity. The SF-24 features a 5-pin XLR connector and includes an 18' (5.48m) cable with dual standard XLR connectors.

The high SPL capability and figure-eight polar pattern associated with ribbon microphones apply here as well. Engineers have been known to switch their dual-microphone techniques for the convenience, reliability and audio quality of the SF-24 when capturing orchestras, ambience, group vocals, performances, etc.
