Tiffen 62CLR overview

  • 1Description

The Tiffen 62mm Clear Filter is a simple, clear filter with a 1x filter factor and is designed to provide general protection for your lens. This optically clear filter does not affect the overall image quality while helping to prevent dust, scratches, moisture, and other elements from reaching or damaging your lens. This filter features standard coating for helping to reduce flare and improve light transmission.

Tiffen filters are made using ColorCore technology; a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting to precision metal rings.

Clear filter offers general protection for your lens against the elements.
Standard coating for lessening lens flare and improving light transmission.

    Tiffen 62CLR reviews

62mm Clear Filter is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from B&H suggested filter.... Used on Sigma 30mm 1.4 Fits perfectly. Does it's job. No complaints.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Absolute didaster My expectations were much higher after I've read the reviews about this filter. But when it arrived it looked like a piece of ordinary window glass in a round frame. Compared to my previous filter (about same price) but I've bought it in Ukraine and haven't waited for it to come overseas... Well, I'm very disappointed with this filter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Filter Saves Lenses For years I have used Tiffen filters on all my lenses. Over the past 4 years they have saved me thousands of dollars by protecting my lenses. While putting my camera on a tripod I did not get it as secure as I thought and my camera fell off the tripod. I know it was stupid, but I tend to focus more on what I am trying to photograph rather than my equipment. On two separate occasions the camera fell to the ground, once on a concrete floor. Both times the camera landed on the front of the lenses breading the glass in the filter. Fortunately for me the filters absorbed the brunt of the impact. I removed the broken filters and continued my photo shoot. Once I had to change lenses until I could get some tools to remove the filter because it was bent making it too tight to remove by hand. In addition, I like to keep my lenses clean. I find it protects the expensive coatings on my Nikon lenses. I would rather clean a filter than be constantly rubbing chemicals on the front element of my lenses.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good filter ...good price I primarily use this filter for protection on my AF Micro-Nikkor 105mm f/2.8G ED-IF AF-S VR. Really no need for a UV filter in digital photography so I always opt for a decent clear filter. Most of all the price is right,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Price is right compared to a lens. Had one of these on an $800.00 lens. I slipped and my camera fell and hit a rock. As I picked it up I heard broken glass. Afraid to look, thank havens it was only the fitler. I now bought one for all my lenses.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for protection! I keep this filter on my 70-300 lens to protect the lens surface. Usually, I shoot in areas with a lot of dust/dirt/sand, so this gets the job done.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Old Reliable Tiffen filters have always been well made, stable, and optically excellent. This one is no different and protects a macro lens for me.
