Manfrotto 008BU Reviews
Great Heavy Duty Stand
I purchased this stand because I broke my old Calumet version of the stand. I wanted the same stand. This is an updated version of my original stand. I use this to put an LED Fresnel light on, a large LED panel light, plus as the stand for my boom arm. It is lightweight yet heavy duty. It is made of aluminum with steel cross braces. I like having a good stand with wheels for my LED panel light because it makes it easy to move around on a busy shoot. I like that this stand has both the universal mount with 1 1/8 Junior receiver plus pop-up 5/8 stud. This newer version of the stand also features a leveling leg. I haven't used this feature before, but it might come in handy when outdoors on uneven ground. I have really liked this stand and use it frequently. I also like that it accepts wheels. There is a small indentation at the bottom of the leg that matches with a small nub on the wheels, so when attached the wheels don't rotate on the leg. This stand works very well with wheels. I find it to be sturdy enough for my use and yet light weight enough to carry easily. The price at B&H is also very good, which makes it a great value. I'm glad I purchased this light.

This stand is really solid and versatile.
Buy Your Last Stand First
You have an investment in your lighting gear; do not waste your money on a inexpensive stand. I use this stand with the PhotoFlex 7' octodome with grid. I do not have to use any sand bags. This stand is a very stable platform for any large soft box. I buy Bogen products because they will out last me; your children will use this stand long after you are gone.
