    Sigma 50mm f/1.4 Reviews

50mm f/1.4 EX DG HSM Lens for Sigma SA is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from surprisingly good Im an artist for a very large video game company and use this lens for both personal and professional projects. Im very happy with the build quality of the lens and how quiet the auto focus is. Those were both happy accidents for me though, my primary concern was a lens with good image quality. The image quality has been exceptional. I spend a lot of time taking night shots and the extra wide appeture has been great too. Colors seem much better than my other lenses too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great! I have a copy of this lens from when it was first released and shot many portraits with it at f5.6 and wider. It never let me down, but displayed a wonderfully timeless and yet modern look. It is very much like a Planar with an edition lens at the rear of the camera. I purchased this new 50/1.4 of the same design and found it with improved fit and finish and conspicuously different coatings. This newer version of the planar design lens has outstanding clarity and contrast, balances perfectly on the camera without being too heavy and delivers perfect images.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast Prime Lens The lens reviews that I read for Canon and Nikon mounts were very favorable. In my use of the lens with a Sigma mount, I have found it to be very good. The build quality is very good. The pictures have been very good so far with nothing remarkable to report.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good lens I use this lens on my SD-15 to shoot portraits - location as well as studio. Good colour, sharpness and contrast. It focuses fast. I typically shoot from anywhere between f2.8 and f5.6 The focus speed is pleasingly fast.

    question

Will this lens work with a canon 50d body?
    Asked by: kelly r.
The SA mount version won't of course ... but surely you guys have the same lens in Canon mount? If not I know that Sigma are now offering a mount conversion service for their lenses .. I wouldn't know at what price though.
