These Vortex Push-On Objective Caps are originally supplied with the Fury, Razor, and Viper binoculars which have 42mm objective lenses, and are offered here as a replacement for a lost or damaged cap.

They'll also fit many other binoculars as an optional upgrade.  It is difficult to say which tethered caps will fit which binocular, since it is such a finicky application which is often dependent upon the objective lens barrel's edge design.  But if these caps have been recommended as an accessory to a binocular, you can be assured that we have tested the fit here at B&H.  Consider the stated 50mm outer barrel diameter estimate, common to many 40-42mm objective binoculars, as a guideline.

Two Tethered Push-On Objective Caps for 42mm Fury, Razor, & Viper Binoculars is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 24.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Replacement for Nikon Monarch My Nikon Monarch 5 objective lens covers never fit snugly right from the start. They flopped down awkwardly, often obstructing the view. First the tether strap on one broke, and then the other one let go. I also own a Vortex Viper 8x42 and was impressed by the quality, snug fit of those objective lens covers, which employ a better tether design and are made of higher quality, more pliable material. I bought a set of Vortex covers to put on the Nikon. Fantastic fit, much better than the original! Same for the Vortex rear lens cover/rainguard, see my separate review on that product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well on Nikon Prostaff 7 Binocular A common complaint of most Binoculars are the front and rear caps. Even reviewers of the most expensive ($2000+) binoculars, complain about the caps. Companies such as Nikon should do better. This product works well with the Nikon Prostaff 7, 8x42, Binoculars.I like these Tethered caps more than the original Nikon caps. The Nikon caps can be fitted to the strap of the binoculars, but it gets in the way.The Nikon caps fits slightly tighter in the front objective openings than these push-over caps from Vortex. If I am critical, I would say these Vortex caps should have fitted slightly tighter. They tend to come off when you put the binoculars back into the bag. For this reason they loose 1 star, as the product isn't perfect.I highly recommend buying these caps as a replacement for the Nikon caps. The rubber band of the Vortex caps fits properly on the Prostaff 7 Binoculars and you will never loose these caps. When walking around and using the binoculars the caps are very handy, as you can't loose the caps; and they are easy to fit and operate. Some binoculars are sold with tethered caps fitted or welded onto the binoculars. I believe these are better as you can replace them easily if they get accidentally damaged. ( No ugly markings of old fitted caps. )I believe B&H should add these caps to the accessory list of the ProStaff 7 (8 x 42) and other binoculars. B&H should also list good replacement Eyepiece Caps (if available) for binoculars sold.I purchased 2 sets and I kept one as a replacement should I ever need it over the life of the Binoculars. The eyepiece caps at the rear of the Nikon Prostaff 7 are horrible, and I wish I can find a similar replacement. A great product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simple is best I have mounted these on my Zeiss Conquest HD 8x42 binoculars, and they fit snugly. The rings stay put once mounted, and the caps stay on unless I flip them off. Rubber material is very quiet when caps flop down or flap in the wind, and doesn't spook wildlife. Only minor drawback is that the irregularly shaped front of the Conquest binoculars makes it difficult to flip the caps back on with one hand, and they require about 3-5 seconds of finagling if you're going to use one hand, especially when wearing gloves. Small price to pay to protect expensive binoculars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replacement caps for Minox BL 8x44 Lost one of the tethered caps off my Minox BL 8x44 while out hunting. Found a review that stated the outside diameter of the rubber tether, measured my Minox and bingo that will fit - and it fits very snugly too! Could modify it but I think I'll leave it as it is. Not the OEM part but just as good if not slightly better i.e. tighter fit and therefore less likely to be 'brushed' off.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Make sure you are ordering correct size Lost my original caps. These are replacements. Keep dust, etc. off objective lenses. However, make sure you are ordering correct size. Vortex's numbering system can be confusing: their SW42 fits binos with 32 mm objective lens (42 mm is the inside diameter of the caps, which accounts for the lens housing). You'll need 52 mm inside diameter caps for 42 mm objective lenses.
