  • 1Description

The olive drab Pelican iM2050 Storm Case with Foam is an injection-molded case made of HPX high performance resin, that is virtually unbreakable, dent-resistant, and shatter-resistant. It is tough, rugged, lightweight, airtight, and watertight. There is a permanently attached Vortex valve that automatically adjusts air pressure without letting in water, and won't unscrew from the case. Press & Pull latches open with the push of a button, yet stay closed securely under impact or stress. The case has virtually unbreakable molded-in hasps that allow the addition of standard size padlocks. It has hinges with integrated feet that hold fast under impact, and create a flat surface for upright stability. It is carried by a double-layered, soft-grip, solid-core handle that provides strong, durable comfort.

This case has a multilayer cubed foam bottom and a convoluted foam pad in the lid.

    Pelican iM2050 reviews

iM2050 Storm Case with Foam (Olive Drab) is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 71.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect case for mirrorless cameras I got rid of my full-sized DSLR and replaced it with a very portable mirrorless system. The whole system (Sony NEX-7 and 2 Zeiss Touit lenses) fits in this Pelican Storm 2050 case. I own several standard Pelican cases, including a 1200 which is almost identical in size, but I like the Storm model better. The latches are more secure and the handle is larger and more comfortable than the 1200. The color is a slightly deeper shade of yellow which is also something I like about this case. If you're assembling the perfect portable camera system, this is a good case to consider.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Case for the GoPro Pelican is a solid company with solidly built gear. Like all things, you have to pay attention to things being specifically marketed with certain brands attached. This same case, marketed as a go pro case adds about $ bucks with other vendors. I wouldn't get a Pelican case that didn't have pluck and pull foam, I don't care what other inserts are available. But this case doesn't disappoint, and is plenty big enough for one camera and most accessories. You could probably get two cams in if you're careful with placement. I wish all their cases use the storm closures, they're much better. It's the same closure that's on their coolers, and they're bullet proof.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice small case It's a pelican,, what more can I say? It's a great small case especially for what it costs. Can place small items and it's well made. Only reason why I give it 4 stars is because I wish a small case like this would lock with 1 padlock rather than 2. Meaning the hole placement could've been a little better like, place it more towards the middle,, when you lock it with 1 padlock, you can still struggle and lift the other end far enough to pull out whatever is inside.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great small case for dslr when buying this i was a little unsure about sizing so i thought id let people know.the inside specs are measured with out foam. ideally the size of the item going in, should be 1 inch smaller then the box however as long as its at least a few mm it will still fit. To put it in perspective for people looking to buy this case for there slr, a rebel camera will fit perfect lens attached with room for a second lens. a canon 60d(which i have) will fit with lens attached and room for a spare lens in the case but will be a bit tight.... once the foam is compressed for a while it will remember and it wont be so hard to put in. a 7d will fit with out the lens on and layed down with room for one lens. I hope this helps for anyone looking for a case.... all in all the case is very durable and great for someone like myself looking for premium protection. its also fits perfectly into my dakine 20l helipro back pack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good protection Traveling to Vietnam and Cambodia for a river cruise and thought I would beef up the camera protection. Great size for a DSLR with lens on it plus accessories. Well built, light, easily customizable foam padding. Securely latches, padded handle snaps into the closed position for packing. Everything I was looking for at an affordable price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value I've purchased a number of Pelican and Otter weatherproof cases over the years, to keep camera peripherals in, if I need solid protection and don't want to haul around a backpack. I bought this one to hold a flash, diffuser, charger, remote, and lens hood for my Canon 60D. I like this because, unlike many backpacks, everything is laid out nicely for you and you can customize the foam cutouts. If something hard falls on it, no problem. I can't fit the camera in this one, I think for that I would get something larger. This case has best latches of any so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Water tight, tough protection A great product: waterproof, tough, tight finish, light I own a larger Pelican, the 1450, for my DSL and a couple of lenses to take rafting. I bought this to protect a LED medical headlight with batteries. The foam was easy to remove, but plan well because there is no going back. The size will fit a small DSLR or a compact digital with a few pieces of additional gear. My IPad just misses fitting inside. I bought the yellow to keep down the temperature from direct sunlight if I take out the foam insert and use it on the water for electronics/camera.
