Pelican iM2100 overview

  • 1Description

The Pelican iM2100 Storm Case with Foam (Black) is an injection-molded case made of HPX high performance resin, that is virtually unbreakable, dent-resistant and shatter-resistant. It is tough, rugged, lightweight, airtight and watertight. There is a permanently attached Vortex valve that automatically adjusts air pressure without letting in water, and won't unscrew from the case. Press & Pull latches open with the push of a button, yet stay closed securely under impact or stress. The case has unbreakable molded-in hasps that allow the addition of standard size padlocks. It has hinges with integrated feet that hold fast under impact, and create a flat surface for upright stability. It is carried by a double-layered, soft-grip, solid-core handle that provides strong, durable comfort.

This case has a multilayer cubed foam bottom and a convoluted foam pad in the lid.

    Pelican iM2100 reviews

iM2100 Storm Case with Foam (Black) is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 98.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good protection and it opens and closes FAST. I've used this case for protecting one of the cameras that I take on canoe trips. While the rest of the cameras and lens stay safely in another Pelican case that remains closed, this case sits on top where I can get to it quickly and easily to take my Nikon D500 out and start photographing. Most importantly, I can re-case my camera fast should conditions become dicey. While I haven't been 'swimming' with this case, I spent a half hour on an unplanned swim with a capsized canoe in a Colorado river with my cameras and lenses in a Pelican 1510 case and there wasn't a drop of water in the case when we finally got to the shore.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Camera protection When taking your camera on a boat, especially a tippy kayak,, you need maximum waterproofing and protection from the elements. This case does it all- it has great padding, it will float with your camera in it, and keep the water out, as long as the box is closed and latched. What I like especially about this case is the latches. They are easy to open and do not make a loud snap (scaring off my subject- birds). The usual Pelican cases have the same qualities as this one, but I found the latches painfully difficult if not impossible to open, and they made a very loud snap. For me, that made the product unusable. This case is a 100% improvement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT Protection I bought this case to protect my camera equipment. I am a Land Surveyor and for years the Pelican Case has been the go to box to protect our expensive survey equipment. I have seen blowing sand, heavy soils, mud, and even sea water try to penetrate these tough cases and have never seen a seal leak or a box break, even after some pretty good drops. These are great cases and come in so many sizes. I would recommend them to anyone needing to protect equipment. The pick N pluck foam you can get with them is excellent too. It is easy to shape cut-outs without cutting the foam yourself. This is must get equipment for your equipment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value - solid case Hardigg makes a great case and B&H had the best deal on this model. I'm using this case to store two pistols. The foam was easy to customize to fit just about any shape object. Highly recommend for all cameras, guns & other items you want to store in a secure, water tight case that will last for many years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely durable - would buy again! I use this case primarily for my Canon 50D w/ 28-135 lens. I like the versatility with this case. I have plenty of room for the full body (upright) and 2-3 lenses, flat or upright, depending on the length of the lens, extra battery and charger. If I only take a couple lenses with me, I can just pop the foam back into the unused space for security. The fact that it can take a beating and is waterproof are definite pluses. I haven't found any negatives about this case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding value I purchased this case to store my Buck Mark Standard .22 pistol w/Burris Red Dot sight. It only took about 30 minutes to outline the pistol and remove the outlined foam. I then cut the foam outline in half crosswise and reinserted one layer of the foam outline back into the case. This way the pistol would sit even with the top of the foam layer. When the case lid is closed the pistol is held quite firmly in place. I even had extra room for three magazine storage slots. I am very satisfied with this product and highly recommend it for the safe storage of your items.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what was needed If you can stand to buy an expensive case, and drill holes in it, you can do a lot with these Pelican cases. I used this one to build a power box for a telescope drive, and also storage for the telescope drive system controller and cables. I mounted two power connectors on the outside so the box can be closed to keep everything out while in use. There was plenty of room for two 10Ah LiFePO4 batteries and all of the wires and parts. This is the fifth Pelican case I've bought for this telescope project. B&H seems to have the best deals. Very happy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Case I own several cases of this type. This is the only unit I have found that the latches can easily be opened and closed.
