Pelican iM2950 overview

  • 1Description

The Pelican iM2950 Storm Trak Case with Foam (Yellow) is an injection-molded case made of HPX high performance resin, that is virtually unbreakable, dent-resistant and shatter-resistant. It is tough, rugged, lightweight, airtight and watertight. There is a permanently attached Vortex valve that automatically adjusts air pressure without letting in water, and won't unscrew from the case. Press & Pull latches open with the push of a button, yet stay closed securely under impact or stress. The case has unbreakable molded-in hasps that allow the addition of standard size padlocks. It has hinges with integrated feet that hold fast under impact, and create a flat surface for upright stability. It is carried by three double-layered, soft-grip, solid-core handles, lightweight retractable, telescoping handle and rugged in-line wheels.

This case has a multilayer cubed foam bottom and a convoluted foam pad in the lid.

    Pelican iM2950 reviews

iM2950 Storm Trak Case with Foam (Yellow) is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 45.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pelican cases are the best I use the iM2950 to store 4 monolights as well as cords/pocket wizards/reflectors/spare lamps/spare model lamps/(2) honeycomb grids. Chose this case as it was the best sized Pelican product to fit in the back of my Jeep Wrangler. These things are a bit heavy but the extra protection is worth it and the wheels/handles they have make handling that much weight much easier than cheap cases. I was just at PhotoExpo and there were a host of other hard case manufacturers there but I just can't see myself not continuing to use Pelican in the future. I own 4 pelican cases in all

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Better than a Pelican First of all I own 4 pelican 1650, this is the same size as the iM2950 Storm Case. We travel the world and have used the pelicans for years. The best thing about the Storm case is how much lighter it is than the pelican. They weigh 24lbs. vs the Pelicans 31lbs. This is A LOT when you are talking about checking in on a flight these days when space is getting limited. Most Airlines weight cutoff is 50lbs. That only gave us 19lbs of storage with the Pelican. One thing i don't like with the Storm case is that the travel/pull handle does not lock in the up position.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Built to handle, Afghanistan proven This case is with me in Afghanistan as we speak and it is surviving just fine. I can't say enough positive things about Pelican cases. They hold up to true beatings. The iM2950 has 5 latches that secure the hinged lid. The foam inside is great for just having some support within the case itself. There are two lockable hasps that can fit a very large lock if needed. The case itself holds alot of stuff. It may not be the lightest, but it's worth it's weight in gold for the protection you're getting. I definitely will be buying more Pelican cases.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Case for Photo/video traveller Great construction, great closing system, a bit heavy, useful wheels and handles well placed. Only cons : foam comes in 1-2 inch layers, tried gluing it so layers would not come off when taking gear out but did not resulted. Foam comes out each time you take out a piece of gear a bit too tightened. it is annoying. Solution would be making holes bigger but then what's the point if gear is not tightened. Reason for the 4 stars. Or buy the one that comes with 1 block foam and cut it out yourself ... not so easy and result no as professional either.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything in one box... I have the JVC GY_HM100 and together with all my accessories including my MacBook Pro, everything fits into this case. It has wheels so when traveling internationally I know that all my kit is safe and protected from the elements but easy to transport. The tough plastic effectively protects everything and as we say in Africa has great 'houding' which directly translates into attitude from Afrikaans. That is exactly what this case has... Attitude! What else do you need from a case that is entrusted with the protection of all your gear!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what you want in a road case This is my 7th Storm case (all for different purposes - no replacements) and it's as solid as the first. Or should I say the first is as solid as the new one. It holds up to all the abuse truckers and baggage handlers dole out. I like the button-lock latches so much better than the friction latches on the standard Pelican cases. Thanks to Pelican for not changing the design here. The cases are surprisingly light for their structural integrity. As with all cases with retractable handles, I wish they were a little longer so I don't have to stoop or work to keep from kicking the case with my heel. Take the time to choose the right size for your gear and which style of packing will work best for you (foam or dividers) and I can't imagine you'll be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pelican Case iM2950 I am using this product as a case for my guitar effects pedalboard. Its perfect size in width and length. The depth is a bit deep but I can use it for additional parts storage which eliminates an additional case to take around with me. Seems to be pretty durable so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great case! This case was purchased to carry computer equipment on a 13 hour flight. It could not have been easier to transport the equipment - the case is durable and it is very easy to roll it. Furthermore, the company was responsive when I had to change the color of the case before shipping. And it arrived the next day. I would highly recommend this product as well as the company to anyone who needs a durable case for audio/video/computer equipment that can be heavy and hard to travel with.
