The Pentax V3LC allows a motorized CCTV zoom lens to be controlled by a PC via an RS-232 (serial) connection. In addition to operating a lens's zoom, focus, and iris functions, the V3LC can be used to control a motorized Pan/Tilt unit the lens is attached to, thus offering full PTZ control from a single computer interface. When used with preset (potentiometer) lenses, the VLC3 will, at the click of the mouse, move the lens to the pre-programmed positioned. The VLC3 can also be used to activate a lens's 2x extender. Of the eight axes supported by the V3LC, six can be used for speed control, while the remaining two can be configured as general purpose relay outputs.
