Rated 5 out of 5 by from CAN'T GO WRONG WITH PORTA BRACE I have used Porta Brace products for more than a decade and they have never let me down. The CTC-1 Traveler's bag is ergonomically designed for maximum use of space while remaining within the constraints of air travel carry on size. This is a durable well made product that anyone in any usage situation could keep for a lifetime.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good for air travel We just got the case but thought a lot about which case to buy for the EX3 before we actually bought this one. Its not that much that the bag in itself is great rather than the fact that it is one of the few (or only one) that really is made to fit the particular viewfinder on the EX3, and that it has the appropriate size to work as a carry on in air travel, fundamental for us. If you plan to do more land travel I would go for a hard case made by Sony for the EX3 with specially cut out foam (LC-EX3TH), with wheels and retracting handle. But this is a transit case bigger than what would be allowed on a plane. Just because the EX3 is a wonderful camera on the inside, but it is certainly not the most sturdy on the outside. So even though the Portabrace case is very good and well padded, like everything they make, I would say you need to handle it with care to insure the camera is not damaged. It has nice outside pockets where you can fit a hard disk, batteries and other stuff.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Bag This bag is made for the EX3, it carries every thing I need. You can even fit the camera inside with a century wide angle lens mounted on the front.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect for the EX-3 - Almost After trying a mammoth bag that held everything but was way to big to carry on aircraft, I went for this bag. It fits snugly and compactly, probably won't get a second glance from the airlines as you carry it aboard. I like its pockets a lot and flexibility. The minuses: sides are protected by a partial foam/honeycomb plasticized cardboard insert that I found too weak to really take an airline hit if you ever had to, shudder, check it. My solution was to unzip the sides, remove the protectors and cut a 1/8 Lexan sheet the same shape and bond it to the existing piece and re-insert. Short of a .45, this will take a major whack without damage. I also found the side where the eyepiece projects lacked any protection on one end. Again, I created my own out of sandwiched Lexan when I rebuilt that side piece and reinserted. (Hidden at the crease at the bottom of the bag on each side is a full length zipper so you can remove and reinsert the side panels easily.) The notorious EX-3 eyepiece is cleverly retained in a box that telescopes out. This box is a real work of Origami art. It took about 3 days to find it and figure out how it works. I did not even realize it was there it is so cleverly folded. (Did I mention, you get no instructions on how any of these features work?) The downside is that the eyepiece is exposed in a box sticking out with semi-stiff padded walls. My solution has been to build a reinforced box. I designed it out of Lexan with a metal frame to go in there. It's a way to help keep the apes that load overhead bins and, shudder, load bags should you be forced to check it, from turning the eyepiece into crushed junk. The bottom of the bag is sturdy, no need to modify that. I'm mystified why there is no strap to hold the camera in place if it's turned over, upside down, etc. I'm adding my own. The length is great with room at both ends. That space is missing a way to add a Velcro partition or two to hold your batteries, headphones, recording equipment, disk units, etc., away from the camera. Again, a do it yourself project.... And the one part I am still wondering how to fix is the top over your camera. It's just a piece of ballistic cloth. No overhead protection at all. That is a real minus - you don't have more than a couple of inches of room above the camera...and with no hold down strap. You can see the problem if ever this thing is turned over. From all the trouble I'm going to, you likely get the idea I really like the bag in spite of it's shortcomings, and you are right. It is good enough that I decided to fix what I saw as it's weak points. If you don't travel the airline gulags a lot but travel in personal jets or cars only, it's terrific out of the box. Otherwise, plan to fix a few negatives if you want to be sure your camera survives the tender mercies of the airlines and your fellow travelers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Case for Sony PMW-EX3 I purchased this case from B&H for my Sony PMW-EX3 and receieved it within a few days. When I intially placed the camera in the bag, it did not fit well and I thought maybe they sent the wrong item. Then I discovered the large side pocket opens up and expands outward creating the perfect size pocket for the viewfinder to fit in. The material, zippers, and shoulder strap are very strong. There is padding at the bottom of the bag that sits on either end of the camera to keep it stable and protected. I am able to fit the cables, battery charger, and shotgun mic on the deep pockets outside the bag. It also comes with a white balance card. Although I just receieved the bag, I believe it is perfect for the EX3 and an absolute must unless you opt for a hard case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value for the price As said, great bag for the price. Well protected, lots of storage pockets. Actually A bit big inside for the EX3, you could probably fit a Varicam in it. One side has a velcro pocket that opens up for the viewfinder. Comfortable handles and shoulder strap. For the price you cant lose.
