The orange Visible Dust Sensor Brush Cleaning Kit contains everything you need to keep your sensor in good shape.

VDust Plus
VDust Plus Formula from Visible Dust, cleans the image sensor of DSLR Cameras from all kinds of contamination resulting in crystal clear images.

If you are unsure as to the nature of your stain or you get both water and lubricant stains, VDust Plus will fit the bill. Designed to clean away water and most oil stains, VDust Plus eliminates streaking and provides a moderate static barrier.

DSLR Swabs
The very soft DHAP fabric of the swabs have traditionally been used for cleaning delicate surfaces such as telescopes and other scientific optics, and is ideal for critical cleaning. Due to its ultra softness, less pressure is applied to the sensor through the swabs while cleaning, thereby reducing the risk of squeezing or scraping debris on the sensor, and the thin structure provides better edge to edge cleaning maneuverability.

The swabs work best with VDust Formula and good with Smear Away solutions, but are not compatible with the Sensor Clean Solution. Furthermore, the unique woven pattern of the DHAP fabric minimizes shedding of the swab while increasing absorbency.

The patented mini-channel paddle, with contour, provides an even saturation of the paddles surface while preventing pooling and vertical flow at the edge. This reduces streaks associated with traditional flat surface paddles. The mini-channels also provide an extra reservoir to absorb any excessive liquid thereby prolonging the moisture life of the swab during the cleaning process.

Sensor Brush
The Sensor Brush from Visible Dust is used for touch-ups and cleaning the edges around the sensor chamber.

1.6x Sensor Brush Cleaning Kit (Orange) is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 96.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Left my sensor spotless At first I was pretty skeptical about cleaning my own sensor for the first time. This kit was extremely easy to use. The fluid didn't leave any smears. Just make sure to only put 1-2 drops maximum on to the swab as opposed to the 3-4 drops that's suggested. Otherwise it'll probably be too damp and leave marks. Only thing I have against this kit is the price. It seems extremely low-cost to produce. But then again, I won't be cleaning my sensor often so this kit will save me the trouble of having to go out to find a professional to clean it. Plus it's cheaper too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from May Require Persistence But Works After using a blower, the Sensor Brush, and both sides of two of the three swabs in this kit with the cleaning solution, my sensor appeared clean in sky shots except for two big specks that appeared to be welded pollen or something of the sort. I then wetted the third swab more thoroughly with the solution and again used both sides of the swab, pressing down a bit harder this time, and managed to dislodge these last two specks. The process took me a little over an hour. Using a headlamp to illuminate the sensor while I worked was very helpful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great all in one kit Kit contains essential tools needed for sensor cleaning. Only other thing needed is a rocket air blower. Take your time and read the instructions contained in the kit, as well as on the manufacturers website. I was a little apprehensive at first about cleaning the sensor, but not anymore.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It just works There are a lot of sensor cleaning methods available, but the Visible Dust Sensor Brushes are the best way to go. My only recommendation would be to buy the brush that is one size smaller than your sensor (i.e. buy the 8mm brush for a 1.6x DSLR). Being able to clean the whole sensor in one swipe is nice, but the bigger brush is a tight fit in the mirror box.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Exceeded expectations Followed the instructions with some trepidation on the warnings in the FujiFilm-S5-Pro manual about having the sensor cleaned by Fuji only. Worked great... key to remember it is iterative, after cleaning and drying, shoot some a featureless light scene (I used a grey sky) and check for remaining stuff. Found the brushes, wiper and cleaner all worked fine. Should set up the work area and work flow so that you aren't futzing around with packaging, etc... while the sensor is exposed Final result was a very clean sensor!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Product I was a little leery cleaning the sensor for the first time. After watching a couple of tutorials I ordered the Visible Dust sensor cleaning kit. The instructions were easy to follow (watching the tutorials increased my confidence). My sensor had a lot of dust which required an extra cleaning, this wasn't a problem, it only took a couple of extra minutes. I used a lamp and magnifying glass to check the sensor before and after, this method worked, probably not as well as a dedicated loupe but good enough to get the job done. I purchased an extra set of VisibleDust Swabs just to have them on hand, considering the amount of cleaner you receive with the kit I believe this was a good move.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My Sensor Can See Again I own a mirrorless Samsung NX100, shoot outdoors a lot, and change lenses a lot. Being that is a mirrorless, there's nothing protecting my sensor from all that bad dust and dirt and grime and grit. So, my sensor was showing some pretty gruesome stuff, especially with exposure times longer than 1/15 s. Anyway, after researching and reading about how I'd have to send back to the manufacturer to have my sensor cleaned, or that I'd destroy the thing if I did it myself, I ran across this product. And it has saved the life of my sensor. My sensor can see again. And it is very easy to use. I've used it twice already and it is great. My pictures are clear again. I don't have to waste time in Lightroom removing spots.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Look in the sky, is a bird is it a plane I discovered that my new Sony A55 had a couple of smudgy dust spots on its sensor. This was my first digital camera with interchangeable lenses so I had to do some research to learn that what I was seeing in my clear sky photos were dust spots. I have been using film SLR cameras for 40 years and have spotted a zillion B&W prints so I thought that dust spots on a digital sensor would look like dust spots rather than tiny out of focus mushrooms. There were a few minor flecks also of what did look like real dust, but they would not be visible unless I made a poster sized print. I can't imagine how these two dust blobs got on my sensor as I only have one 18-250 zoom lens on my Sony which I never remove. I was glad I bought the Visible Dust Kit with the Vdust Plus fluid and 3 swabs as well as the 16mm brush since the brush did not budge these stubborn spots. I think they must have been caused by oil or a dried lubricant of some sort. I had to use all three swabs to completely remove both spots. You can't use the same side of a swab twice as it will deposit dust the second time around instead of removing it. It was a pretty easy task with clear instructions inside the the box and my camera body mounted on a tripod next to my desk with a good movable light. Say AHH! The hardest part of the process was reading the 7 or maybe 8 point type used to write the instructions. I will order more swabs for future cleaning, however I can not understand why these swabs are so very expensive. They must cost about 12 cents each to make. My guess is that it must be very costly for Visible Dust to package them absolutely dust free in their individual sealed sleeves. On the other hand their very soft brush will last forever if taken care of. You will need a sources of air flow across the bristles to charge the brush before each brush stroke on your sensor. I am guessing the air flow will probably keep it clean as well. A can of compressed air charges the brush nicely. This is a good product that does the job. The Visible Dust website will tell you what size swabs and brush is needed for your particular camera. Kudos to B&H Photo's internet orders and shipping departments. I live outside of Philadelphia and I had the package in my hands two days after I placed the order, and that was with free shipping. I'm a happy dust free camper.
