TH-770 High Performance Tripod System is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 171.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Little stiff, but a great budget tripod. I finally stepped up from the basic style tripod to this one that has 2 stages. I shoot mostly video with my 7D and I needed a quick way to level out my shots. The head unscrews from underneath and is easily adjustable. I use the bubble on the tripod plus the level function in the camera. Together they work perfectly! At full height the tripod isn't spread out too much, which is great if you need to be in a smaller space. For the price, this is the best tripod I found that has 2 stages, mid level spreader, and the head can be adjusted and balanced easily. Haven't used it a great deal, but so far the pan and tilt are pretty smooth too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Reliable and won't break the bank Tripods are expensive. While looking for one to replace the cheap one I had I came across a lot of products that had major price tags. This one comes in at around $ and is a solid product. It's stable and has a good height to it. It also has the knob underneath the head to adjust the level without having to movie legs up and down to level the camera. This is plus as that process is a pain. It has a smooth head that is great for panning and tilting.I would say it's right between what you get with a cheap tripod and what you get with one that will cost you an arm and a leg which is great for the filmmaker on a budget.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Eh, not good enough. It's smooth, I'll give it that. But, I don't know if it's just my product, but the quick release plate does NOT fit flush on the head. It's just loose enough to screw of shots that would otherwise be perfect. Especially timelapses!!! Also, when I pan around, the head becomes un-level. I can tell this because I will level it using the ball mount and make sure it's perfect with the bubble, and then when I pan at all, the bubble gets off center. POINTLESS TO LEVEL!!!! I would NOT buy this again. I've had it for about a year and a half, and every time I use it, I regret the fact that I purchased it. An extra star because the head is smooth. Otherwise, worthless.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Tripod - NO instructions! I have used the tripod twice so far and am very happy with it. However, there were absolutely NO instructions or manual in the box! A week ago I sent an e-mail to Bescor requesting instructions for the TH-770, but have had no response whatsoever! I've had to learn about it's operation from trial and error! It is much different from my previous tripod, so it's taking some time to learn this new one. A page or two of instructions explaining it's features would have been a big help - so would a response from Bescor! Based on the lack of instructions and their lack of response, in the future I will NOT purchase any other Bescor products. cml

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surpassing high quality for the price! I'm used to using thousand dollar Manfrotto tripods, and I can honestly say this Bescor tripod far exceeds most $900-1200 dollar Manfrotto's. You can easily set this puppy up and have it perfectly leveled in less than a minute. This tripod features a seperate centering grip to allow the user to level the camera despite uneven ground. My only gripe is that the case is a flimsy, but it does a good job in protecting it. If you're traveling on an airplane, I would reccomend getting a more sturdy case to house the unit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Value! For those on a budget, you can't get a better fluid head & sticks combo than this. Cons: *VERY* tight out of the box- to the point where I thought the release plate was jammed. However, once you start using it, the head and plate loosen up so you can even let it drift a little to get smooth moves. Just don't freak out about its initial stiffness. PROS: Light enough to be portable, heavy enough to be sturdy, low profile when folded up and pretty tall when fully extended. Sturdy build and bubble for leveling. Everything you need is here. IN SUM: If you're on a budget, this is the tripod to get.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Looks great at first but... I teach Broadcast Production, Love this style tripod. Its simple, easy for students, and gets the job done. They also tough. Thats why I just ordered a large quantity of these guys. That is also why I am a bit frustrated. I have had three knobs break, the levels inside the head of the tripods on some are not set right so you can never level the tripod, they are so ridged that some of my students cant open the legs, they are weak, but still its frustrating having students come to you so you can release the quick release plate. I really love this style and have loved previous tripods. But I am not sure what happened to quality control. Very disappointed!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best tripod for this price I use this tripod with camcorder Sony PD175. What like: light, compact, cover included. Sufficiently stable, very smooth running of the head, quickly set the level horizon. What is not liked: mounting plate is not the most comfortable, no counter balance. Not governed by force when panning. On the first day of shooting fell off and was lost retainer legs in the transport position. A trifle, but unpleasant. Legs tripod itself blocked when you try to change the hight, because mid-level Spreader way. But in general, the purchase is fully justified and he is on a level above the Chinese counterparts in this class.
