How do I remove the quick release plate?

Whats the comparison between this and magnus vt 3000?

The VT-3000 has a lower load capacity (6.6 lbs). Apart from that, the specifications are extremely similar, approximately the same height range, both include mid-level spreaders and weigh approximately 7 lbs.
