The Bescor MP-101 Motorized Pan & Tilt Head attaches between a tripod and camera and enables remote panning and tilting of the camera. Two independent motors smoothly operate horizontal and vertical motion at adjustable speeds. The head supports payloads up to 6 lb. The two mounting points are the 1/4"-20 tripod threads underneath and the 1/4"-20 camera mounting screw with registration pin on top. All tripods and cameras are compatible.

An Auto Pan Mode allows for continuous panning motion, and a switch selector lets you assign end points at 45°, 90°, or 340°. The maximum horizontal angle is ±170 degrees, and the maximum vertical angle is ±15 degrees. This head can be powered by four AA batteries, the Bescor PS-260 AC power supply, or a Bescor 90-645 external battery, all sold separately.

MP-101 Motorized Pan & Tilt Head is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 194.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from For the price, darn near perfect Cons: No speed control in automatic mode.Remote must be plugged in to work. Both easy to live with....MP-101 solved my primary panning problem. Love products that work as advertised, although speed control in automatic mode would have been nice.Includes a remote control. No need to buy a separate remote. Unit will not function if remote is not plugged in.In my experience, stationary objects (buildings, trees, parked cars, etc.) are the hardest to pan smoothly, unforgiving of panning mistakes. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works Hard For Your Money I've used the MP-101 in three completely different situations and it's performed better than I'd hoped each time. In a quick interview situation, I wait it on the desktop and used it to keep my interview in frame when she moved around. Later, I used it to get a nice steady pan of a tabletop setup. Finally, I mounted it on the 8' jib arm I'd bought it for in the first place and put my Canon 7D MarkII on it for a series of video moves on a set. It went three-for-three and the ability to work without AC power made it quick and easy to use. I'd give it five stars if the AC adapter were included, but as it is, the MP-101 is a solid, hard-working tool that does exactly what it promises.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Better than expected I have been looking at this pan and head for a couple of years before I purchased it. My main concern was if it was rugged enough for professional use. In one use I have found it as being adequate for my needs. I cant tell how well the remote my last as it appears a little fragile - time will tell. I used it with two 20 foot extensions and it worked great. I am using this to videotape meetings and conferences where a manned camera operator would not be possible. I was previously using a locked down camera. The ability to pan and tilt the camera from a remote location provides much more capability. The MP-101 brings a lot of capabilities at a very cost effective price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolute Value for Money With an extended cable for the Hand Controller - this unit becomes very useful for controlled panning & tilting of DSLRs and Camcorders placed outdoor which may be connected (wired & wireless) to an HDMI monitor placed indoors. A DSLR camera fitted with a Super Zoom lens (weighing around 4 lbs) works on this Motorised Head without a problem. This becomes very useful in digiscoping applications which often requires stable focusing and controlled panning & tilting movements. Two very important accessories to buy would be the:- (1) extension chord for the hand controller (2) power chord with adapter for the mains

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Performance, Great value. I purchased this for use on my 8' crane. The panning speed range is ideal and the vertical tilt, forward and backwards is more than enough to get the shot. There are ones that are much more expensive but for general use, this one does what I need it to. If you need to be un-tethered and rolling free, it runs reliably on 4 AA batteries for many hours but also comes with a power adapter, the Bescor PS-260. Also, it is very smooth and quiet, won't get into your audio. It only weight about 2 pounds, and together with my Canon XA10 video cam the load is light. Definitely get the RE-20 extension if you're using a crane or are running it out of sight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exellent for small consumer cameras I use this product with a home built jib and a Canon ZR500 DV camera for high and low shots as a second camera. The unit is very good, by the way don't buy the remote control as one is included in the box,the remote has a variable speed slider on it ,don't expect very fast speeds. The unit was meant for a security camera so don't overload it with a big heavy camera. It also has an automatic pan switch,it does 30,60,and 90 degree pans automatically, it can also manually tilt up and down with the remote. It can run off bateries or you can buy the 12v accessery unit. Nothing bad so far I would buy the remote extention if you plan to be far away from it or on a crane or jib.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Unit keeps us hands free We use this unit to produce live television programs on location and in the studio without the use of a camera operator, the director can set up shot and move it when needed without a second or third studio hand involved. It is easy to setup. Just need an AC plug handy or 4 AA Alkaline batteries. This allows us to operate extra cameras in board room and not have to take up more room for an operator. Only negative is we need a zoom and focus remote when we need to pull out or zoom out on a person or product. Great price and Unit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best remote pan/tilt head for the money Over the past six years I have purchased seven of these units, starting with the old 90 degree models and now this latest 340 degree unit. (I believe there is a new 369 degree unit.) Only one of my seven has ever given trouble... A 340 that moves slow. The Bescor is good for repositioning but not very effective for following action because the motor isn't quite smooth enough for steady pan shooting, esp when the camera is zoomed in. It jumps into action. I use my seven units with seven cameras and a couple of operator cams for symphony concerts with a switcher. Works well, and it is the most cost effective remote head I've found.
