The Chimera Micro Bank softboxes are designed for the film and video industry to produce high quality illumination for "interview format" shoots. Their 5x7" (12x18cm) front face dimension and a choice of diffusion screen strengths makes them ideal for lighting people.

These softboxes are designed for on-camera video camcorders of a fairly large size, or for attachment on a film camera. Attachment is usually done via the accessory shoe of the camera, usually found on the handle. Each softbox comes with the appropriate hardware for mounting to the camera end.

This softbox includes a dedicated Speed Ring for the Lowel Pro-Light, I-Light & L-Light.

Will produce a fairly hard quality of light unless you are very close to the subject.
Rectangular catch-light noticable in subjects' eyes at close distances.
On-axis lighting gives the illusion of smoother skin.

Micro Softbox for Lowel Pro, I, and L-Light is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from One serious drawback. This is a great little softbox that I use for my Lowel Pro. It is smaller than I thought it'd be, but puts out a very nice even light. The only problem I have with the product is that the frame (which is quite sturdy by the way) has no means to tilt up or down. I realize many people would use this mounted only on top of their cameras and wouldn't need it to tilt, but I was hoping for a more versatile lighting product that could be used for sit down interviews where a low wattage soft light is needed. Makes it kind of difficult to pull off without being able to properly aim the light. I ended up buying a tilting light/umbrella adapter by Manfrotto so I could attach Chimera to a lightstand and tilt it. Works good, but a step I would like to skip and wish I hadn't had to pay for.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great at softening the blow. This soft box is great at difusing the light of the pro and is well built. My only issues so far is that once your light is affixed to the softbox frame you cannot tilt your fixture, so this basically needs to be fired from a head on position. Also the structure pins of the softbox need to be forced into the holes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great addition to the Lowel Pro. Does a great job of difussing the Pro, even makes the light more useful. The only dowside is that with this softbox on you cannot tilt the light, only raise it up or down.
