This is a reasonably priced filer that works well without hurting image quality.

Fantastic filter does it job with diffusing bright light on sunny day while keeping my sky a beautiful blue color. Makes my shots more vibrant.

Thank You for your excellent service. The ND filter arrived and was to be a gift, so use hasn't occurred yet. I just like B&H- rather than some of the other vendors. Sincerely, C.

It does what it's supposed to. My only (minor) complaint is that it's too easy to rotate it unintentionally. It should be damped or tightened somehow.

Really good

Altho graduated the line of ND and clear is still a little too distinct for me. This is more like a hard stop in the middle so sometimes it is hard to line it up with the horizon.

Big Difference

I take a lot of landscape pictures. Lately I have been taking ocean view pictures in the evening and had big contrast issues - bright sky and dark foreground. I had the camera checked out and everything was to spec. HDR mode and Software couldn't correct the problem so I tried the Tiffen Graduated ND filter which solved the problem perfectly. Pictures are much better balanced.

question

What is a graduated neutral density filter?Does the filter rotate? By this I mean, can I rotate the filter to high light certain areas?
Asked by: Anonymous
A graduated neutral-density filter is an optical filter that has a variable light transmission. Typically half of the filter is of neutral density which transitions, either abruptly or gradually, into the other half which is clear. It is used to bring an overly-bright part of a scene into the dynamic range of film or sensor. For example, it can be used to darken a bright sky so that both the sky and subject can be properly exposed. There are typically two types of graduated ND filters, which are hard edge and soft edge. This particular Tiffen Graduated 0.6 ND filter is a feathered graduated ND filter, which means that there is a natural-appearing taper between the density and clear areas of the filter. This filter does not rotate.

question

This filter is very loose (cannot fully tighten, keep rotating) when stacked on top of a B+W XS-Pro 67mm filter... Faulty unit? XS-Pro 67mm diameter slightly wider than TIffen 67mm?
Asked by: Yang
Yang, please contact Tiffen directly at http://tiffen.com/contact/. Make sure to include a copy of your receipt, photos of your filter and a detailed description of the problem. Please also us know if the filter behaves the same way when mounted directly to your camera lens and not another manufacturers filter.
