Rane Commercial MLM 82S Overview

 • 1Description
 • 2Mono Mic/Line Inputs
 • 3Stereo Line Inputs
 • 4A and B Mic/Line Outputs
 • 5Compact Design

The Rane Commercial MLM82S is a versatile mixer that offers a variety of mic/line input and assignable output options, ideal for installations requiring ease of use and compact size, in hotels, conference rooms, schools, and more.

The mixer features four balanced, mono mic-/line-level inputs with XLR connectors and up to 60 dB of gain. Four stereo line-level inputs with up to 12 dB of gain are fed via the eight 1/4" inputs. A single button on the back engages 15 VDC phantom power on the mic inputs to allow the use of compatible condenser microphones.

The mic/line inputs can be assigned to the A, A+B, or B main outputs, the two XLR outputs are equipped with an internal switch for padding the output signal to mic level.

With a 1-RU, all-steel design, the rugged MLM82S easily fits in a standard effects rack for mobile applications.

Mono Mic/Line Inputs

 • 4 x female XLR balanced, mono mic-/line-level inputs with switchable 15 VDC phantom power
 • Mic/line inputs may be individually assigned to the A, the A+B, or the B outputs
 • Independent level/gain trim controls
 • Signal/overload indicators for each input
 • Phantom power is automatically removed from any input set for line operation

Stereo Line Inputs

 • 4 x pairs of female 1/4" TRS balanced, stereo line-level inputs with 12 dB of line gain
 • Each stereo line input features a recessed mono switch with indicator, for four mono A inputs and four mono B inputs configuration
 • Independent level controls

A and B Mic/Line Outputs

 • 2 x male XLR balanced, mono mic-/line-level outputs (A and B)
 • A and B mix outputs each have an internal switch for padding the output signal to mic level
 • Output-level knobs set the master mix level independently for A and B outputs
 • Mix amplifiers feature independent overload indicators

Compact Design

 • 1-RU design makes the MLM82S convenient to transport in a standard effects rack

Hi, I'm planning on connecting it with 3 mics and ...

Hi, I'm planning on connecting it with 3 mics and a stereo feed from a computer in a recording studio that will sent out to a Hyperdeck recording for broadcasting. It looks like output A and output B are 2 separate-mono individual outputs. Is there a way to link A & B main output to work as a perfect stereo output please? Thanks, Avli.
Asked by: Avi
The MLM 82S does have two separate mono outputs and the four mono XLR mic/line inputs can be assigned to feed through to either the A, A+B, or B main outputs and set for mic level or line level signal. Assigning the XLR inputs to A+B output would deliver a dual-mono signal through both outputs giving you the exact same audio on each side. If you need to have different audio signals coming through each output, you would need to use a mixer that has individual pan controls for each input channel to construct a true stereo output with different channels panned to either side. With the MLM82S, you can connect your three microphones to individual XLR inputs and connect your computer's output to the fourth XLR input using an XLR adapter to sum stereo to mono. You can then assign the four mono input signals to output as A+B for a combined dual-mono signal. Please contact us by phone or through live chat if you would like further assistance to select a mixer that will be best suited for your application.

question

Can this be hooked up to a power amp and connected to CD players and Turntables and or Tape Decks?
Asked by: Donald
This is a line level input device so you will only be able to plug in line level devices (cd players, tape decks, DVD). You could plug a turntable into a phono pre-amp which can then be plugged into the inputs on the MLM82S.
