    Hoodman HD-300VIDEO reviews

HD-300VIDEO Camcorder Hood is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 44.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from I will buy this product again I shoot high school football from the roof of press box's, even during night games it can be difficult to see you screen clearly due to position of the lights in the stadiums. And day games with the sun to your back it almost impossible to find the ball, this is a simple fix. I had made something similar years ago but now needed a new one; I have been using Hoodman products on many of my digital and film cameras so I was knowable with their quality. Simple to use, light weight, folds up and can be moved from one camera to another in seconds. Great for indoor use also as it can block most of the overhead reflection you see in the view finders.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from NICE! I use this even during indoor shoots 'coz it gives me that much more accurate viewing (I use the XH-A1) without any distractions. I just wish it was a little bit shallower (or an option to make it shallow/deep). Overall, it is sturdy, tough, easy to fix unto, folds flat (goes nicely into my vest). I would recommend four corner straighteners though 'coz after folding, it does take some time to get that perfect square (or a light guiding frame that attaches would be nice). My only caution is not leave it in your trousers / pants for if it bends, it may be hard to undo it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Product!!! Like all Hoodman products the HD-300VIDEO is well made and functions well. I am a Gaffer (lighting director)and I have worked for years with Hoodman hoods. My experience has been with larger models, for monitors. This small hood for my personal camera, a Canon HF sS10 is great. It frames the screen perfectly and attaches flawlessly. My only gripe is that it covers the three buttons on the bottom of the flip out panel. This does not really effect me though, I use the remote control to operate the camera.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for shooting in the sun I got this to use with my 60D when shooting weddings. This really helps out with the glare you normally get on your screen. I was shooting a music video for 3 days from morning to night, mainly outside. There was a lot of walking and camera moves, which meant a lot of focus pulls. I haven't been able to make the investment in a viewfinder just yet, so I bought this. I could not see the screen well enough in the sun to keep focus precise without this. It really helped. I don't like that you can't close your screen with this on, at least in my case.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from work good for my GH2 at outdoor i have a Panasonic GH2 and want to shooting video at outdoor, purchase this Hoodman HD-300VIDEO last week, and install very quick and store easy, but when you put on and look inside, will block 5% of the flip display, very hard to see the battery meter, Time remain...IOS... Because i wearing glasses, that's why not buy DSLR viewfinder. i see many forum of 3hood,this is a very good deal.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great I thought it was gonna be a bit more flimsy and not hold its shape. But once you put it on it gets that nice rectangle shape and holds> would be nice if i could use the buttons on the bottom of the LCD but oh well. Its still doing its job. I use it on my hv30

Rated 5 out of 5 by from invaluable Absolutely necessary outdoors. A previous reviewer complained it was lacking a lightweight frame to maintain the proper rectangular aspect. I use a custom-folded paperclip plus gaffers tape to provide that function on the product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Kind of saves Canons camera 2.8 inches if pain shooting with the XH-A1. This made it more usable in the day time. Easy to store and attach. Just sticks out though. No way to retract anywhere once attached.
