Rated 5 out of 5 by from This WORKS! Hard drive cases aren't that reliable even if there is a brand name on the box. That's where this product comes in. It allows you to use your broken 2.5/3.5 (SATA-fitted) hard drives again; allowing you to recover your lost media or saving you another $ for a Hard drive. PRO: Overall, Great product, no overheating and/or other problems. Its plug and play option rocks if you're quickly backing up footage or anything like that. In simple words, If you're looking to use old hard drives or retrieve data from a broken one, GET THIS. CON: Slightly slow connection but not that much different than from the original speed of connection. Besides, that's expected for a 3gb folder with a USB 2.0 Hard drive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does what is says on the tin Ludicrously low price and it works. Although it doesn't say so on the site, it does come with an AC adapter and a USB cable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Recovered all of my files This docking station saved the day for me. Had a BSOD from a power failure on a 4 year old PC and after several attempts to repair the installation of Windows XP Pro failed I decided to try this docking station from B&H. The docking station worked perfectly and I had recovered all of my files within minutes. Hard drive was from a XP Pro machine and worked flawlessly with a Vista Ultimate 64 bit machine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Like a Champ! Great, simple back-up and drive cloner that does what the product description states, Enclosure for 2.5/3.5 SATA Hard Drives. I don't get how the buyer who gave this 1 star can rate it low when they bought the wrong product. It does say, SATA, and NOT PATA...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good dock I had some old 3.5 hard drives I wanted to erase the data on and sell. This dock performed exactly as it should. It read the drives without issue and was able to perform a clean wipe on all the drives. Currently, I use it as the base for my TimeMachine backup. It waits on standby til the TimeMachine kicks in. No issues. It's a basic, inexpensive dock. Good if you can wait for the slow speed of a USB 2.0. I don't have an esata connection on my MacBook Pro.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from does what it says it will this drive enclosure works exactly like it says it will. take any sata drive and plug it into the top. plug the enclosure into your computer via usb and voila, you can access the drive. done with the drive? hit the eject button on the enclosure and pop in a new drive. it worked right out of the box and i didn't even need to read the directions. that's a real winner in my book.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome For The Price My imac Screen display went out after owning for several years completely black screen which made the imac unusable unless i wanted to pay roughly $$for a new logic board (UH.. I DONT THINK SO) with integrated graphics card which is what stop working causing the black screen anyhow i decided to remove my old hardrive and hook it up to the aluratek enclosure to recover files to transfer to my new mac mini with a beautiful AOC display screen oh yeah!!! the aluratek performed well every time i used it over and over again to get files that i wanted off of the old hard drive; it transferred without issue and showed up on my desktop as an external hard drive awesome product that saved me $$i use it a lot and it has held up well and when i'm confident that i have everything off the old hard drive i'll wipe it clean and get back a nice big fat 500gb hard drive free to fill it up with whatever i want without taxing my new computer with such things.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, easy-to-use, docking station It was simple and easy to use. I simply plugged it into the computer, inserted the hard drive, and began transferring files. It was great. The product worked exactly as described. I like the added fact that it works with both laptop and desktop sized hard drives. I would recommend it to anyone.
