LensCoat TravelCoat overview

  • 1Description

The LensCoat TravelCoat Lens Cover is a 3mm thick shock-absorbing closed-cell neoprene lens cover that is custom tailored to fit the Canon 400mm f/5.6L lens. It is designed to fully protect the lens when not in use, without the need for a more comprehensive lens case, allowing you more valuable room for packing and storage. It simply slides over the lens, and closes with a secure touch fastener tab.

This cover is designed for use with the lens hood on in the reverse position. Also available for this lens is another version of the TravelCoat, which is fitted for those that prefer to keep the lens hood fully removed from the lens.

The Realtree Advantage Max4 HD camouflage pattern offers maximum effectiveness in open terrain. The pattern incorporates cattails, millet, milo, corn stalks, sunflowers, oak and maple leaves, cedar and oak limbs, plus a variety of other plant life into the largest camouflage artwork on the market.

    LensCoat TravelCoat reviews

TravelCoat Neoprene Lens Cover for Canon 400mm f/5.6L - Realtree Max4 HD is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Thin piece of neoprene for the price I bought the travelcoat to go over a new canon 400mm L lens I recently purchased. I was looking for something weather and bump resistant because of an impending kayak camping/photo trip to a swamp in NC. I could tell right out of the box that this product wasn't going to do what I needed under anything but the best circumstances (i.e. photographing from a blind or car). The neoprene is veeeery thin and does not have a lens cover. Also, there are too many openings to make it weather resistant. Overall, I would not recommend using the travelcoat for lens transport or in adverse weather conditions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceeded my expectations! I borrowed a canon 400 f/5.6L and a few other lenses from a fellow pro. The only problem was the standard Canon off-white would stick out like a sore thumb in an African wildlife shoot. I also didn't want to take a chance on damaging my colleuges lenses even if they were well insured. My lenses tend to take a beating but not anymore. After speaking to a knowledgable sales associtate at B&H they turned me on to the Lenscoat line of pro accesories.Needless to say all my fears went away after picking up Travel Coats for each of the four lenses in addition to the Lenscoat lens covers and Hoodies. Lenscoat and B&H far exceeded my expectations and I was able to rest easier knowing that my gear and borrowed gear would be protected and well concealed on Safari.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pricey but nice complement to the lens I bought the lens cover because I shoot wildlife and want to camouflage myself and gear as much as possible. Although the cover was a bit expensive, it has exceeded my expectations. In addition to disguising and protecting the lens, the cover has a nice tactile feel that makes it easier to hand hold the lens when not using a tripod. Additional pluses include the facts that the cover fits the lens perfectly and that it is made in the US. I would definitely purchase another TravelCoat cover.
