The Air Sync Transceiver for Packs and Heads with Built-in Air from Profoto is an eight channel radio slave transceiver designed to work with the any Profoto pack or head with built-in Air radio technology. It will also function with other power packs or monolights without built-in radio slaves by simply wiring a second tranceiver to it. The Air Sync can control the firing (but not power levels) of an unlimited number of power packs and monolights on eight channels

I have the the D1 air 1000w profoto monolight kit. I am having trouble syncing both lights together. Do I need to buy this to do so?
The Profoto Air line of lights have a radio slave reciever built into them. The best way to trigger them is to utilize this technology by using this Air Transceiver (Remote) on your camera.

I want to use this device with a speedlite. Does the speedlite need to be in slave mode to work? I think the only thing to do is to plug the air sync to the speedlite and it's ready to shoot, but I'm not sure of this.The transmitter is an Air TTL-C.Thanks.
The speedlite would not need to be in slave mode for it to work with this unit, however it is best to have the speedlite set in manual mode as this unit does not offer TTL capability. Assuming that your speedlite has a flash sync terminal on the side, you can use thempact Sync Cord Male Mini to Male PC (1'),B&H # IMMMPCM1 to connect it to the Air Sync Transceiver. Please see the image below for reference.

Will this work on canon transmitting to B1?
Yes this will transmit from a Canon DSLR to a Profoto B1 but you will not have control over the power output being that this is a manual trigger.

Well this unit work with the Profoto C1 Plus using a Canon 7DMII camera?
The C1 Plus will work along with the Air Sync Transceiver with its flash sync and remote control functions.

Can this work with Leica S2 camera and Profoto A1X?
It would work but you would loose all control. You would be better off with the manual remote for power adjustment from the camera https://bhpho.to/2YDZ2g7.

Can you assign a group to this unit when used as a receiver? I understand you can't control the power but it would be nice to be able to isolate it for firing purposes.
The unit only has channel selection. No group control. For group control you would need one of these as a receiver https://bhpho.to/2YDZ2g7.
