Pairing a normal field of view with an especially bright design, the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.4G is a versatile prime, well-suited for a wide range of subject matter. Characterized by its fast f/1.4 maximum aperture, this lens is adept in difficult lighting conditions and also excels at isolating subjects using selective focus and shallow depth of field techniques. A Super Integrated Coating enhances contrast and color accuracy by reducing flare and ghosting, and the rounded nine-blade diaphragm contributes a smooth, pleasing bokeh quality. Additionally, a Silent Wave Motor provides fast, quiet, and accurate autofocus performance along with full-time manual focus override.

Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.4G Reviews
Very nice prime lens.
I have had to transition into doing my own instructional videos. I use this lens with my Nikon D7200 camera to produce the videos. The lense shoots through a teleprompter to produce professional quality videos (well...almost!). I plan on using the lense with the Nikon for RAW photography in the future.
Still A Great Lens
Checking photo gallery websites sites, you can still find this lens being used on high end current Nikon cameras, as well as the historical ones. From DSLRs (like D700) thru mirro-less bodies like Z6, Z7 - the output looks great across the spectrum. If you're on the fence about this one, just buy it. It's quite nice and holding its own against the third party manufacturers. I really appreciate the prompt service from BH Photo!
Very nice bokeh
I've been using this lens on my D750, and the Depth of Field is really great. I do notice that sometimes I need to step down a bit to retain sharp focus in certain circumstances, but wow...a really nice sharp lens.
Great Product
Light weight, fast and sharp. Almost cero vignettes and distortions. Great product!.
Excellent lens
I really enjoy landscape photography and this lens does a superb job.
Awesome lens - one of my favorites!
I was very hesitant about this lens as I had read many mixed reviews on it, but I can safely say this lens has become one of my absolute favorites - and that's saying a lot as I have some of Nikon's and Sigma's finest glass they make (Nikon 24-70G, Nikon 85 1.8g, Sigma 70-200, etc). The one oddity I noticed with this lens when shooting it wide open (at 1.4) was that it did terribly on paper (calibration paper tests) but as soon as I started running test shots on people, specifically their eyes, it's TACK sharp. I can honestly say that I've not had a lens perform so poorly with the calibration chart but then blow me away with actual in-person tests! 100% crops I have no issues at all making out all the individual eyelash details (and then some). And the raw files that come out with this lens are to die for! Just love everything about this little guy.....oh and on that topic....this thing is so compact it's actually a joy to carry around, unlike some of my other 6 pound lenses. This is a lens that you will absolutely love after you give it some time and practice. One item of caution - it does have terrible chromatic aberration when wide open, but for the most part, that's fixable in post. Can't say enough good things about this lens. I've attached a landscape shot I took with it the other week.
Satisfied for price
I am impressed with this lens for its price. It is not full five star because I'm honestly not completely satisfied with it. I often find that it never focuses (when I select a certain focus point, that point is never quite clear or actually in-focus.) Additionally, there is a green and purple haze around objects in some photos. I am not sure if this is faulty or supposed to happen... but I love the bokeh and that makes it worth it! Wish I could give it a 3.75 rating.
Wicked Awesome.
I'm from New England so I had to throw in the Wicked Awesome, lol But seriously this is a fantastic lens.
