The LP-45 Lens Plate for Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 VR & VRII AFS from Kirk replaces the stock lens foot with a quick release plate. The dual functioning attachment reduces setup time and lowers weight by eliminating the additional plate needed when using a stock foot. Constructed out of aircraft grade 6061 anodized aluminum alloy, it features a scratch resistant black satin finish. The LP-45 is compatible with Arca-style quick releases and comes with a 5 year limited warranty.

LP-45 Lens Plate for Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 VR & VRII AFS is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 67.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Balance may be off with D700 and MB-D10 I don't know if any other plates are better, but I can't easily balance my D700 with my MB-D10 battery grip on my Wimberly Sidekick with a Nikon 70-200 VR II lens. The plate is too short on the rear so to make it work only about 1/2 the plate ends up in the clamp. It does balance okay when not using the grip. I knock it down to 4 stars for this reason. I wish I would have known ahead of time that this wouldn't be an issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The perfect replacement foot I'm currently using the LP - 45 to secure a Nikkor 70-200mm atop a CB Gimball head. The turn knob is large, grippy, and smooth, and cannot fall off the foot when completely loosened. It mounts very easily, and the security screws at the front and back offer piece-of-mind that my cam and lens cannot slide off the Gimball head when loosening the Gimball's securing knob for minor adjustments. It's a superior product that's better than the foot included w/ the lens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High-quality Arca-Swiss compatible replacement I'm really impressed with the high-quality products available from Kirk. A few months ago, I purchased the BL-D800-L-Bracket for my Nikon D800E, and did not hesitate to make the purchase of the LP-45 Lens Plate for my Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 when I found it on the B&H Website. The knurled knob on the Kirk replacement is much smoother and more comfortable than the original, and of course it fits the Arca-Swiss style tripod head perfectly. I would definitely recommend this, and all Kirk products, to anyone looking for high-quality accessories for the DSLR camera.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not bad for the price Overall quality is excellent. This is used on a Nikon 80-200 f/2.8 VRII The tension knob is way better than the original. Not too excited about the retention spring of the release tab. The spring just stands out and looks cheap. It fits pretty tight on body of the lens. Even with tension knob fully unloosen, it will take some force to detach it from the plate from the lens.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Expensive, but BEST alternative PROS: Allows the use of any Arca-Swiss compatible head (ball, pan/tilt, gimbal) without the need for individual plates for each. Great built quality. Packaging is on the cheap side, but the product is great. CONS: I wish the foot itself were longer as it would give me better freedom to balance the lens/body combination on a gimbal head. Asides from that, NONE!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Outstanding Replacement for Nikon 70-200 This makes the lens much more stable on your tripod. There is still a very minimal amount of play due to the nature of the lens ring and foot being two pieces. Very noticeable difference from the original Nikon foot. You will not be disappointed by this replacment piece.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great choice for wildlife photography Wildlife photographers need a single, universal, reliable way to quickly and safely change lenses, cameras, tripods and the like. The industry standard has settled on the Arca Swiss style quick release clamps and plates and other camera equipment. All Kirk products employ this Arca-Swiss style quick release technology. So it should be no surprise that the Kirk LP-45 replacement lens foot easily fits right in. This beautiful piece of equipment is quality built, with less weight and a lower profile then Nikon's original lens foot. Kirk's LP-45 replacement lens foot is not cheap - quality products seldom are. But not all Arca Swiss style plates are created equal. Having owned numerous brands of Arca Swiss style clamps and plates, I have come to learn that the quality and reliability of Kirk brand quick-release products can't be beat. The Kirk LP-45 is no exception - Nikon quality at a more reasonable price! Just buy it, you'll never regret it. After all, it's only money; you're going to spend it on something. Mike

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works like a charm I just bought the lens plate/foot to use with my new Nikon 70-200 VRII in conjunction with my Really Right Stuff ballhead. I found that it was extremely easy to replace the existing foot on the lens and even easier to use with the RRS ballhead.
