Used to allow a high-performance USB oscilloscope to be used remotely, for example inside a no-access area. It worked entirely as advertised. The only improvement I would like is for the remote receiver to be powered via the CAT5 cable (like PoE). Competing products do have this, but the prices are much higher.

I use these to extend a usb keyboard 50ft offstage to a laptop. works perfectly

Gefen always makes great products and this device is no different. Having a status light and power light takes out the guesswork in setting up. I have used it with 200' of cat5 and haven't had any issues. Only con is the price. A little more expensive then other ones in the market but with Gefen you know you are getting professional grade.

We used this so our Mac that runs our midi keyboard can be off stage. It works great and provides power to our Akai keyboard! Note this is only USB 2.0.

No, can't. This is just an USB extension using a Cat5/6 cable.

I see there are 2 different color options for this model. The blue model is more expensive as well. Does this blue model offer faster connectivity over Cat6?
