Need a quick, sure, economical way to fire your standard shoe flash while it's placed far from your camera? Try the Paramount PMHSFPC15S Hot Shoe to Male PC Sync Cord. One end slides onto the standard hot shoe of your flash (except Sony/Minolta). The other end plugs into your camera's PC terminal. It has a single firing contact. It is 15' (4.5 m) long.

If your camera does not have a PC terminal, try the Paramount PMHSHSFM10, which is a hot shoe to hot shoe Sync Cord.

Manual, or Sensor Auto-Flash operation only

Note:Sony/Minolta flashes will not work with this item without an additional shoe adapter

PMHSFPC15S Sync Cord - Hot Shoe to Male PC - 15' (4.5m) is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works. Reliable. I got this instead of that HAMA Universal Flash Adapter Adapter HAFAU, which has a horrible PC port that doesn't seem to work. Fewer connection points = fewer problems, right? So far so good. It seemed to stop working for a while but when I brought it home I gently tapped the curved part of the hot shoe adapter with a hammer, making a more secure connection and it worked fine after that. I've taken this thing to the ocean, through the mud, through the sand, through the streets of New York City without a hiccup. The flash triggers every time and this thing's seen quite a bit of abuse.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Use as part of optical trigger I use this to trigger Canon speedlites by putting an optical trigger at one end. I found it easier to trigger using this set up than PocketWizards when the wireless trigger on the camera is dedicated to the studio lights. Quick aside, for Canon speedlitees one needs to use a very specific optical trigger. Only issue was the male end needed to be opened a bit with an Xacto knife (i.e., there are two precut slits and they needed to be wedged open slightly). The fit was too tight.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far so good I've had this for a month or two now & I've used it a couple of times on location. It seems reliable & I'm buying a backup just in case. The construction is flimsy, especially the hot shoe area which really feels like cheap plastic & bent metal. The bottom has a 1/4 20 thread (female) to mount on a stud in your light stand. It would be better if it had a cold shoe bottom since the thread feels flimsy. It's also twitchy with my Nikon speedlight. I'm finding my Nikon speedlight is twitchy with a lot of things. The contact is inconsistent & it'll go off at the slightest tap. Also the Nikon locking mechanism is a little pin that pokes out of the bottom of the flash - which just pushes on the plastic & pushes the flash away from the bottom center contact.I'd imagine Canon flashes would have the same sort of twitchy issue as the Nikons- all those extra sensors on the bottom make for a very twitchy situation with non-Nikon or Canon tech. (I've experienced this sort of thing with other similar units.)On the Vivitar 285HV though, it works great. Fires every single time. I guess old tech works best with old tech. The cable is also nice & long and lets me get away from my flash, just so long as I don't accidentally get it in the shot.If this cable was $15 I'd buy a handful of them just to keep as spares, but since it's $ I'll just buy a couple and treat them a little nicer.
