Behringer C-4 overview

  • 1Description

The C-4 Matched Pair of Studio Condenser Microphones from Behringer feature a cardioid polar pattern and are suitable for instrument, ensemble, group vocal recording, and other applications. The microphones are designed with a non-reflective, matte-finish for use with stage lighting in live recording situations and can also be used in project studio recording, sound reinforcement, field recording, and similar scenarios. The C-4 microphones offer a low-cut roll-off switch that minimizes low-frequency noise and a -10 dB Pad switch that maximizes headroom when capturing transient (peaking) audio signals. A stereo mounting bar is included in the set for easy tandem mounting on microphone stands. The package also includes two windscreens, two microphone stand adapters, and a transport case.

    Behringer C-4 reviews

C-4 Matched Pair of Studio Condenser Microphones is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from OK Not very sensitive. Clarity is ok but not great. With -10db mode, can be used as a hand-held mic but doesn't match a good dynamic mic at all. Good thing is the low price and the pair I have are quite well matched.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed Had high hopes for these, but turned out to be very disappointed with them. Order two sets and they definately were not matched pairs. They each had different tonal quality and different sensitivity. Ironically, there were two mics (one from each pair) that were fairly close, but the other two were rather different from each other and VERY different from the other mic in its pair. No, I did not get them mixed up. I tested each of them by recording a 1KHz tone and portions of some commercial music and then comparing the recordings with Audacity. Their differences were paifully obvious. Just for giggles, I also tried a couple of SM57's that I've had for a couple of years. While sounding different than the C-4's, they were much closer to each other than any of the C-4's. Again, the two pair Behringer C-4's that got were not matched pairs. I'll be returning them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A little boxy I use these to record live music performances and church services. Depending upon the setting on the mic, I, more times than not, get a boxed in sound that I just can't fix. I am open for suggestions. Slow songs are perfect, loud songs leave a lot to be desired.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Good for the Money Nice mics for the money, takes a little playing with location to get the best sound, but for the price you can expect that. They come in a nice case with adapters, and windscreens. Really can't find anything close for this money! Using them for recording live music for video, rum them into a mixer, then into the video camera.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good decent pair of mics 1. Live recording for church choirs with use of portable recorder. 2. Pro: Low cost with all needed components that goes along with the mics. Warmer sound than the recorder's built-in mics 3. Con: off-side noise was noticeable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unbeliveable quality for the price We use it in our Church for the Choir and some time to pick up sound from the music instruments. It is very easy to setup. Only minor feed back at mid tone but it is fine after we tune down the mid range. The pick up distance is reasonable good within 5 to 6 feet. The mic is also very sensitive and pick up a lot of noise from the audience if you bid not place the back of your mic away from audience. I don't think you can get any better in this price range.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Stereo Pair For Small Budget Project I used TASCAM with USB for PC/Laptop Recording. Great pick up for Guitar, String Instruments. Sound quality above average. It comes with all Windscreens and Pair Holder set and Sturdy Case. It was not listed on the Description so I bought extra just for backup in case. Overall sound I really like it. Great price $$$. I've been searching for these kind of mics with this price $$$ ???? and FINALLY... I FOUND IT... AWESOME.... Can NOT BEAT IT!!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from not great I am using these to capture natural sounds at a basketball arena. They work well for this application. The pair don't match. They don't have a flat frequency response. They dip in the 1k range, which is good for me. They boost at 500hz and 7K+. I would not use these for music applications. They are cheap and I needed something that could be destroyed.
