Sony DSC-H20 Overview

  • 1Description

The DSC-H20 Cyber-shot Digital Camera from Sony is a compact digital camera with a powerful 10x zoom lens. Delivering a field of view equivalent to 38-380mm, the Zeiss lens retracts into the camera's body when it is not in use.

    Sony DSC-H20 Reviews

    DSC-H20 Cyber-shot Digital Camera is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 47.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Surprisingly Good After several years of using digital SLRs, I'm usually very skeptical of compacts or point-and-shoot cameras. Most of them are too automatic for my tastes. But this Sony has a surprising amount of customization available, and quite a few manual controls, especially in Manual and Program modes. Even when using full auto-settings, the camera focused quickly, taking a shot with little of the usual delay. And I didn't believe the smile detection would be effective until I actually tried it. Wow. This camera takes compacts to another level.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A cemera it is easy to use image stabilization works very well. Image quality is very good, in normal operation or macro. However, the auto-focus seems do not work very well, even the object has good contrast and it is bright enough. Another noticeable issue is the long interval between each shot when in non-burst mode. Still a good choice in this price level

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! Takes great shots! I spent lots of time researching a camera after my older compact digital camera broke. Being a mom of 2 active young boys, I was looking for a camera that would allow me to take action shots and capture those quick movememts without much lag. I also wanted a video feature as we don't have a separate video camera. And I wanted heft -- something that felt like a real camera -- but still did most things automatically without much tweaking. This camera has it all, and more! Pictures come out crystal clear, without blur, and the 10X zoom is great! Overall I feel like we made the correct choice with this camera for our family. Even my husband, who was taken back by the price tag, sheepishly admitted that the camera was a great buy - and that says a lot! BUY IT! You won't be sorry!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Carry Everywhere Camera Solid built, flexible camera for those who prefer a bit more reach than the wide angle of similar featured cameras. Feel's good in hand..relatively compact. Enough manual features to be useful to advanced photographers or times when a dSLR is too much to carry. Exposure bracketing parameters remain if camera is turned off, several pre-set focusing ranges that could be useful in different situations, low light movie mode, metal tripod adapter, ability to use filters and lens converters with optional lens adaptor. Would give 4.5 Stars if I could.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this camera! I bought this camera because I wanted something that would take good quality photos of the family and for travel but I didn't want to spend a fortune. I am a bit spoiled because I work with excellent SLR cameras all the time at my job, but that sort of a camera wasn't in my family's budget. I couldn't be happier with this camera. The photo colors are beautiful, the quality great, and the in-camera editing options are so very handy. This camera is very easy to use. It works very well for my needs and is small enough to travel easily. I have all the features I wanted (and then some) for my own purposes, yet it was very easy to set up and use by my husband who prefers the ease of a simple point-and-shoot camera. I can't recommend this camera highly enough. If there are any drawbacks to it, it can be a bit fussy in twilight settings. My husband had a few issues with it's automatic settings around dusk (slow to cycle, focus, etc.), but other than that it has performed beautifully.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great all-purpose camera Since my fiance and I both lost our digital cameras over christmas, we needed a new camera we could both use that wasn't too expensive until we can afford to replace both. This camera has far exceeded expectations. It's so much nicer than either of the digital cameras we had before. It takes pictures really quickly. Last week we wanted to take pictures of our dog playing in the snow, and we were able to get a bunch of shots off in a short period of time - hardly any delay - and the photo quality is outstanding.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome! This camera is easy to use and has great features. The 'smile' technology is great makes shooting a picture of people so easy especially if you have that family member that normally talking instead of smiling in a group shot. The display is large, menus are easy to navigate through. All over it is a great camera, good zoom and great digital quality. The only thing I thought would be better is the time it takes between pictures. It is fast but I was hoping for a burst sequence (it may be I just havent figured out how to do it). Awesome camera for the price, I love it!
