PocketWizard N10-ACC overview

  • 1Description

The PocketWizard N10-ACC 3' Remote Camera Cable for Nikon 10-Pin Cameras connects to your Nikon camera's 10-pin electronic release socket to enable your MultiMAX, FlexTT5, PlusX or Plus III PocketWizard radio slave set to trigger the camera's shutter remotely. This pre-trigger cable is intended to keep the camera constantly "awake". The pre-trigger switch can be set on or off to save battery energy. Once set on the "awake" mode, the camera will trigger much faster but will also use up more battery power.

Use
  • Updated cable provides direct connection with PocketWizard FlexTT5, PlusX, Plus III, and the ACC jack on newer MultiMAX radios
  • Use with Plus III and ACC jack on newer MultiMAX radios enables ON/OFF switching of connected remote
  • Use the included MSMM Adapter to convert the stereo jack of the Remote Camera Cable to a mono-miniphone jack for use with top-connected PocketWizard Plus series or MultiMAX series radios

    PocketWizard N10-ACC reviews

N10-ACC 3' Remote Camera Cable for Nikon 10-Pin Cameras is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 52.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from WORKS GOOD! This is great! I was a bit concerned about this kind of a cable as it enables you to also run your autofocus from the transmitter. I have typically had problems with this type of cable in the past and know quite a few who have as well. Having said that, I have had not problems and it seems to work on both my D700 and D800 cameras. One thing you should be careful about when buying cables is to not confuse this one with the N90M-ACC-MD cable. It doesn't work on the D700 or D800 but I have noticed that sometimes it is advertised as such. This is the one you want. It's a little hard to get onto the camera at first but once it's on it's secure. That's why I am only giving it 4 stars.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Even PocketWizard is confused Remote triggering a camera should be simple. When I called PocketWizard about making this work even they weren't sure if it was the right cable for the Nikon D700. I was never able to make this function. The tech on the phone seemed confused about the number of detents in the cable end. He suggested trying Basic Trigger mode only on the Flex TT5 but his proved fruitless not to mention a less than perfect compromise. Though the PocketWizard site recommends this cable. I can't see how it works. It may be that there are several being sold that are improperly manufactured and need to be recalled.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from PocketWiz10 pin remote release for Nikon My main interest in this cord is for firing my Nikon bodies remotely via Plus X transceivers. I am working to put together a photo story / essay of my battle with leukemia and MDS and this combination of cord / Plus X has so far worked out well in allowing me to pre station camera body and continue to make images with the push of a test button. Very easy to set up and reliable focus / firing of camera. I have always been satisfied with PocketWizard products and this continues as I work on my photo essay. In fact PocketWizard has kindly sent me a second cable at no cost as a means of sponsoring my photo story of battling cancer. Now I can remotely fire 2 Nikons. B&H Photo makes ordering equipment easy, and PocketWizard has been more than generous with support and interest in my project.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Perfectly! I purchased this cable to enable my pocket wizards to focus and fire my Nikon D800 remotely. It works perfectly and the price was significantly less than my local stores. The cable is also top quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great remote setup. Use these with my PWIII's to remote my cameras. Work fine on the D800 and D4. Plug and go. I bought two so I can rig both cameras. The nice thing is, with the PWIII you can set them to Tx/Rx which allows for use with a third PW or simply using either cameras shutter button. Take a photo with one camera and it will trigger the other. Use the separate remote to trigger both cameras. Opens up all kinds of creative opportunities.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Right One for the Nikon D800 Although Pocket Wizard's website does not clearly state that this is THE model for the D800, it is. The 10 pin plug fits snuggly in the camera's connector. It's a fine product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does exactly what I need it to This does exactly what I needed it to. This cable lets you trigger a Nikon D800 (and a similiar Nikon camera with a ten-pin connector) from a connected Pocketwizard radio trigger. What a lot of people may not realize is that if you're using a trigger that does TTL (like the FlexTT5), you'll only be able to trigger the camera once it 'cycles' after taking a photo. This is because the TTL info is being passed along. If you want to do rapid-fire photography, use the Pocketwizard USB utility to put the trigger into Trigger Only Mode. Then you can set your camera to continuous-high and bang out as many shots as you need. Since the TT5s can have two stored configurations, I use the second one for my trigger only and my first one for TTL.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not work for Nikon D700 and D4 I will give it zero if possible. It never works with FlexTT5 no matter how I change the settings on FlexTT5. They should recall this product.
