Blue Crane Digital BC123 reviews

DVD: Training DVD for Canon EOS 5D Mark II Digital Cameras (Volume One) is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 19.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Odd blend of beginning and advanced info As a skilled photographer finally officially switching from film to digital with the purchase of a Canon 5D Mark 11, I figured I'd need some basic camera info. This CD gave a good overview of the use of the camera. It's divided into chapters that you can click around to and each chapter gives thorough and clear information. I definitely felt more at ease with my camera after viewing it, so it fulfilled my expectations. A couple of times they went into photography (rather than learning the camera). So, rather than advancing to their second disk, I think I'll use Canon's free tutorials and YouTube. They're free and probably I will pick and choose exactly the types of information I want to learn at my level.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Beginners only I purchased the DVD with my 5d mii. Perhaps this DVD would be good for someone who has never used a Canon. I feel like it is worthless because it covers the basics of the basics. I figured a DVD for $ would discuss content on a non-rookie level...I regret wasting my money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A VALUABLE ADJUNCT TO OWNERS MANUAL! Moving up to the 5D Mark II froma 20D, I knew a fair amount about how to use my new camera. But on the advice of a friend I bought the Tranining DVD. What a great investment! It's so much easier to learn and understand the camera settngs when you can see it in action as well as read it. The production values are terrific, with photos and videos that illustate points clearly and concisely. I'm about to order Volume 2 and the DVD for the 580E Flash

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good beginners DVD Thought I'd substitute reading the manual by watching this DVD but as the man says, it's not intended to be a substitute. However, I probably will buy Volume 2 when it is available. If I learn one thing I didn't know it's worth $

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very informative I got a lot of good info out of this video. If you're the kind of person that has a difficult time learning from a book and need to be shown how to do something, I would definitely recommend buying this. I bought it when I first bought my 5d mark 2 and it taught me a lot about all the different functions and also how to use them which is something the instruction manual wont tell you. It has a pretty wide range of info.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for beginners Good for beginners, too basic for intermediate or above photographers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Holy Schmoly If it weren't for the fact that I'm a total novice, I might have had an easier time following this video. That said, I think anyone with this camera can benefit from this DVD. I am going to have to watch it several more times before I think I will become more familiar with all the functions. The one thing I did find annoying was the fact that my PC DVD player would not pause when I clicked on the pause button to try some of the suggestions. I did this several times during the playback, and each time I had to actually click the stop button to get it to stop playing. Needless to say this was annoying as h_ll, because each time I had to start from the beginning and fast forward to the areas in question. This is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5.
