Leupold designed the 2.5-8x32 VX-3 Handgun Scope for handguns by outfitting it with a generous 15" eye relief and capabilities to withstand the toughest of conditions, carrying out the most demanding tasks. The optical system was engineered to provide superior performance and features Leupold's proprietary Xtended Twilight coatings that increases transmission of blue and violet light for improved visibility in low-light conditions such as dusk or dawn, making target recognition easier on dark, shadowy backgrounds. The external lens surfaces were treated with the ion-assisted DiamondCoat 2 process that hardens the lens surface for durability and protection against debris and abrasion. It also increases overall transmission of light through the optical system.
The Duplex reticle is defined by heavy posts and a thin crosshair that are easily visible on any background or in twilight. Because of its location in the second focal plane, the reticle will remain the same in size as you change zoom factor.
Complementing the advanced optical system, this riflescope also features a solid and precise opto-mechanical construction. The housing is made from 6061-T6 aluminum and features a 1" single-piece maintube and a proprietary argon-krypton gas filling for a waterproof and fogproof performance. Also noteworthy is the twin bias spring erector system that provides more holding force to withstand recoil. To protect the optics during transport, this optic includes a neoprene scope cover.
