The title says it all.

Like sneezing on your sensor.

I don't understand how there are positive reviews on this. Is mine defective? It has a felt tip - looking at it with a loupe up close, I can just picture how much stuff it'll leave behind on the sensor. I tried it anyway. Upon first opening the pen, I was attempting to remove 4 lone dust spots left over after swabbing. After touching the sensor with the pen, I could instantly see a huge cloud of dust left behind. Visualizing the dust in LR confirmed - everywhere the pen touched left behind literally hundreds of tiny dust spots. I had to wet clean again to fix it.

Just don't do it!

Had a couple of stubborn "zits" on my sensor. Thought this might help work them off. The residue left by this product took 8 Visible Dust Full Sensor swabs to clean it! Used three times the price in swabs to clean up the mess this created. Stay with your Visible Dust products and take your time.

I got this to remove a stubborn speck of dust on my Sony alpha 7II. Worked like a charm.

Cleans great, but a little too bendy.

Great way to finish cleaning up your sensor. No, this isn't an all-inclusive sensor cleaning product, it's part of a system. Start by using a blower, not canned air or your mouth, check the results. Use a cleaning solution and swab, check the results. Blow again. Use the pen to pick up stray particles or to clean up smudges. Blow again. A lighted loupe is another great accessory, but not absolutely necessary. My only con for the SensorKlear II with articulated tip, is the articulated tip. It bends too easily and makes it harder to sweep the sensor. I don't know if it is necessary for it to bend unless you're using it with their proprietary loupe. Not a huge drawback.

This can be used with a sensor loupe so you can see your results as you clean. I have purchased several over the years and do not have any complaint.

If I could give negative stars I would

I tried the Lenspen SensorKlear II on my a7R3, which had a couple of dust particles that wouldn't come off with the sensor cleaning activated in camera. I then tried my new Lenspen. It left a lot of grey residue on the sensor that was visible with the naked eye, no need for a loupe or magnifier. I had to send it off to Sony to get my sensor clean again. Fortunately, they were able to clean it properly so that I could take the camera on a photography trip. I can't understand the positive reviews here. Did I just get a defective product or a counterfeit one? This is a piece of junk and I would advise photographers to avoid it at all costs.

question

How does it collect the dirt? How do you keep it clean itself when it collects dirt? How long should it last?
Asked by: Anonymous
Soft pad on tip holds debris. I clean the tip by gently brushing tip against soft tissue. Don't know how long it should last. I've had mine about fourteen months. Seems destine to last awhile.

question

Would the pen have any chance of scratching the sensor?
Asked by: Edmond
I have used the pen several times with out any problems. Keeping the tip covered is very good advice.
