Tiffen 5277SUR reviews

52-77mm Step-Up Ring is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 25.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good step up ring Unfortunately B+W doesn't make this size, they make the best step-up rings. That said, this Tiffen ring is much better than any of the generics available in this size. It threads smoothly and doesn't seize. I would recommend Tiffen over any other brand in 52-77mm. This should be a popular adapter, anyone with Nikon primes will want to step up and only use one size filter (77mm) to save from buying filters in every size. Another reviewer mentioned a spring, not sure what that's about. This is just threaded on both ends, one piece of metal. No spring.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to use - does not stick I use this step-up ring to fit my 77mm filters to my 52 mm Nikon DX lenses. The threads are smooth and it does not bind like cheaper versions supposedly do (I have not tried any cheaper ones though). The only downside is the price, but it is fairly reasonable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect accessory! I use this ring for my 77 mm polarizing filter. What's great is that I don't have to buy a second 52 mm filter. Just one works for all my lenses! Seems pretty sturdy as well.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't work... Bought this Tiffen step up ring to work with my Tiffen ND 77m filters. The filters simply won't go on. Pretty bummed as they work fine on Sensei step up rings...Go figure...

Rated 3 out of 5 by from mixed: too loose then too tight I have mixed feelings about this product. I used it with a Nikon lens and Hoya filter. At first, the filter seemed loose, so I tightened it just a bit. It still felt loose. I tightened it a just little more and it felt secure. But when I tried to remove it, it would't come off and I had to get help. Anyone with a similar experience? Any work around? It seems it's either too loose or too tight. I tried to see if B&H carries one made by Hoya, but no joy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Spot on white balance! I'm still new to photography, but after hearing about this product, I had to try it out. I bought it and used it for a few days. While the auto WB on my D90 was quite good, it wasn't necessarily perfect. I'm kind of a nut for accurate representation in my pictures unless I'm specifically going for a specific effect, of which I'd still like to be in control of. The only thing I wasn't totally happy about, though I understand why it's there, is the mounting mechanism. It's just like small spring loaded bearings on the lens or filter attachment adapter. It doesn't screw in, just kind of pops on and off. I guess that assists in ease of use, but I don't like worrying about dropping filters when they're in use. I guess many people would rather have the pop on and off than screw on, and I'm probably in the minority. Still, a great product, highly recommended especially if you've had auto WB problems with your camera in the past.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the best 52-77 step-up ring. I bought Tiffen 52-77mm step-up ring to use my Hoya HD polarizing and Hoya ND 400 filters (77mm) with my Nikon 50mm f1.4 and Nikon 18-55vr lenses. 77mm filters and step up ring and helps me to spend less on separate filters for my lenses without compromising IQ. I also own a 52-77 cheapo step-up ring, which usually not sits perfectly when I screw it into my lens. Tiffen step-up ring is light weight and fits perfectly on my lenses.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Since most my Nikon lenses are 52mm or 77mm filter threaded, I bought this to only buy one set of filters. The ring works as it should. It is heavy duty enough that I wasn't worried about it bending in my bag with just minimal protection, and it survived a week long photographic backpacking trip in the four corners area. Very pleased.
