The Tokina Fisheye 10-17mm f/3.5-4.5 AT-X 107 DX Lens was designed exclusively for use with Nikon F-mount DSLRs with a DX-sized sensor, and combines "full-frame fisheye" (180° diagonal angle of view at a focal length of 10mm) to super wide-angle performance in a single unit.

This lens makes it possible to capture images with an expanded perspective - wider than the human eye can see - including creative deformation of subjects and sharp pan focus that extends throughout the entire frame.

Autofocusing with this lens is not supported with Nikon DSLRs without a built-in autofocus motor, such as the D40, D40x, D60, D3000, D3100, D3200, D3400, D5000, D5100, D5200, D5300, and D5500.

Ultra Wide Angle
This lens enables the shooting of full-frame fisheye images with a 180° angle of view and a focal length of 10mm. Furthermore, the lens offers super wide-angle performance that allows photographer to make use of dramatic changes in angle of view resulting from slight changes in focal length.
Equivalent focal length of 15mm-25.5mm in 35mm format, when used with DX-format Nikon DSLR cameras.
High Optical Performance
Employing ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass, this lens effectively compensates to overcome chromatic aberration throughout the image. And with improved optical architecture and a ghost-free lens coating, ghosting and flare are suppressed to produce clear, high-quality images.
Exclusive Digital Design
The image circle of the lens has been created to match the smaller image recording area of DSLR cameras. This ensures precise optical performance ideally suited to the camera's digital imaging characteristics.
WP Coating
WP (Water Proof) coating made of a special fluoride compound has been applied to the front surface of the new lens through the use of a unique evaporation process. As a result, the lens offers excellent water- and oil-repellent performance and makes for easier cleaning should the lens be accidentally smeared with fingerprints or cosmetics.
Super Macro
An internal focus system allows photographers to focus from as close as approx. 1" (approx. 2.5 cm), giving them the power to fill the whole frame with surprisingly small subjects.
Quick-Shift Focus System
The Quick-Shift Focus System allows to instantly shift to manual focus once the subject is captured by AF.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from amazing lens I've been using a lot this lens looking for something bad to say about the .... and I find nothing, not one but. Excellent clarity, focus faster and better, the color, the color is great. Despite being fish eye the curvature of the photos can not be overstated and can take pictures of people without distorting too much (not in the foreground of course ).... I've used it in wedding photography with excellent results. It is a great acquisition and I must confess that I buy with fear and not used to use a different brand lenses to nikon, but the 10-17 zoom features seemed very different from what you normally get in the market

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tokina outdid themselves! I am the proud owner of this lens. I work as a photojournalist and strive to create images that show people things in a different way than they might normally see them. This lens has opened the door to some very creative photography. It allows me to sit in the front seat of a police car or airplane and shoot a full view of the driver/pilot. I truly love this lens! I was very pleased with the sharpness even to the edges. Problems Encountered: No problems at all. Previous Equivalent Items Owned: Nikon 10.5mm

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Little Fisheye To Get Creative This is a FUN lens. The size is so small that I take it with me almost everywhere I go. You can get to within an inch of your subject. I've used it for macro flower shots with great results. The only 'problem' is you can not put a filter (protective or not) in front of it as there are no threads, but there is a built in solid like a tank metal lens hood to protect the front of the lens. The lens is very well built and looks and feels of the highest quality. It's very sharp and having the zoom makes it VERY flexible. I've used it at 17mm then used a Photoshop plugin (Fisheye hemi) to straighten the photo on occassion. Hightly recommend adding this fun lens to your arsenal. Good stuff for getting creative.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Amazing wide angle closeups I bought this for underwater photography specifically because it's one inch focusing distance allows for incredible wide angle closeups. Its important to get closeup to a subject with uw strobes to preserve clarity and good color. If you add a teleconverter you can boost its macro capabilities even further. I did notice that it had some trouble autofocusing in low light levels with poor contrast (such as divers wearing black wetsuits against a dark water background.). But it's really the most versatile uw wide angle lens available.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can you say, new fave lens, 5x fast? I got this lens for Christmas from my father and I got out and shot with it the other day. It auto focuses better than the other lens I have. I was able to get some very creative shots with it, and it has a ridiculously wide capture range. I cannot wait to get out and shoot some intense scenery with it. It's also small which makes carrying it around easy and great for shooting outdoor portrait shots. I haven't been able to find something I dislike about it yet, and I hope that I don't. Wonderful product, and affordable enough for my price range if I ever want to purchase another lens from the company.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Lens in a tight spot! I bought the lens at the superstore in NYC and walked out the door and attached the lens and started shooting the cloudscapes with it! Love the distorted fish-eye effect! Today we did the NY State Fair in Syracuse and did shooting at the animal judging competitions where the space is very limited especially for the goat and caff judging. I pulled out the fishee and got some great shots. This isn't a lense you'll want to use all the time but a great addition to your arsenal of creativity!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from QUIRKY BUT FUN LITTLE FISHEYE ZOOM I had alway felt that a fisheye lens had limited practical photographic use. However,I decided to purchase this Tokina fisheye zoom as a complimentary lens for my Tokina 12-24mm zoom. I shoot a lot of landscape scenic's and architecture stuff, having a fisheye in my bag can add a little more dramatic impact if needed. At the moment my current fisheye is a 35 year old Kenko 180 degree supplemental lens that screws into front of a prime lens. It's awkward to set up and combersome to use. The Tokina 10-17mm is a small lightweight lens (12.3 Oz. vs 1.2Lb. Tokina 12-24 zoom) There is vignetting at the 10mm setting, stopping down you can see the outer rim of the lens hood in the upper left and lower right of the frame. Vignetting disappears at the 12mm position. At full open aperture, center resolution appears to be sharp, but softens near the outer edges of the frame (full zoom range). Stopping down 2 stops increases overall image sharpness dramatically. I find overall sharpness to be best at the f.8-11-16 range. Auto focus seems to be a bit slow, I prefer manual focus most of the time. There is no auto focus clutch on the lens body, to disengage I have to shift the lever on my D-80 body. There seems to be noticeable chromatic aberration fringing in some high contrast portions of images, can be eliminated in my photo editing program. The 10mm setting requires some tight cropping to eliminate vignetting. The protruding front glass element acts as a dust magnet/fingerprint monster if you are not carefull, the short lens hood helps somewhat, but it is not removeable. Instruction sheet says that filters are not usable for this fisheye. However, I have found a way to attach filters to front of the lens. I like to use D-polarizers in my work. I carefully screw a 58-77mm step up filter ring into the threads of the lens hood, I also use a tiny bit of rubber cement on the threads to help hold the step up ring in place, then screw in the 77mm polarizer, or any other filter. Just be carefull not to knock the front of the lens against anything as this setup is not that secure. This only works beginning at the 13mm position, otherwise you get vignetting back to 10mm. I have used this, and it works! Overall, I consider this to be a worthy fisheye zoom for the price and would recommend it to a friend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from fisheye is what a fisheye does If you are looking for a lens to complete your kit and are not afraid of playing with the large distortion of fishey lens, this might be the one for you. Not as fast as the nikon 10.5mm, but you benefit from the zoom to cover up to 16mm. Great optics quality and sturdy build. Good picture quality in the center of the frame. great for special effects. Small vignette... Nothing serious. Against bright light the output is not as consistent as I'd wish... but if you are crafty you will adapt and find a way. large chromatic aberration especially at 10. But it seems to be a recurring problem with all the fisheyes I've played with. Buttom line this lens is not flawless but it's a great buy and lot of fun.
