The Dahle 507 12.5" Personal Trimmer makes it easy to cut paper, photographs and films accurately and precisely, with a ground circular blade that cuts in either direction. Dahle Personal Trimmers are the first choice of scrapbookers. There are two (2) different replacement blades for the 507 and 508 Trimmers.

If your 507/508 Trimmer has a round slide bar, the replacement blade is a #644. If your 507/508 Trimmer has a rectangular slide bar, the replacement blade is a #970 (Standard Cutter Head). The decorative head set and its individual components are for use on the 507 Trimmer ONLY.

Cutting heads sold separately or as a set of three
Rotary Trimmers are safe to use due to the blade being encased in a plastic housing - This virtually eliminates the chance of an accident
Perfect for trimming paper, cropping photographs and graphic design
Safely change cutting heads without the need to handle sharp blades

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Trimmer for the price I have used this trimmer on a regular basis, I own a small photography buisness and it met my needs and budget. the trimmer makes clean cuts and the blade lasts a long time. Only reason I did not give 5 stars are for 2 reasons, 1-trimmer base is not straight and makes it hard to make a straight cut if you are not paying attention. 2- you can not find the right replacement blade for this product. I ordered the one it specified and when I received it and put it on the trimmer it did not even cut cleanly through one photo sheet. On a whole a great trimmer, hard to get relacements for it, money is precious, want something that will last.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Trimmer I bought this to trim photographs to various sizes for an album. It excels at that. I had used a Fiskar non-rotary cheapo trimmer for years with pretty good results but needed something a little more accurate and smooth. This checks both of those boxes. I sort of wish I'd have bought the longer one to handle 11x14s but considering the price difference and my competence with a razor blade and straight edge buying this one was the right decision. It has a heavy base, smooth action and provides clean cuts. The trimmer has a quality feel to it and the replacement rotary heads are fairly inexpensive. I don't think you can go wrong buying any of the trimmers in the Dahle line.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for cutting prints. I use this to cut my 8x10 and wallet size prints. Easy to use and cuts even. It does the purpose well giving that it is relatively small. I cut one at a time but I imagine you could stack them if you prefer. It would be tougher to pull the blade if doing more then one sheet at a time. (Ilford paper 310 wheight)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect for the price This is a great trimmer, perfectly priced between the horrible <$30 trimmers and the very noticeably superior Rotatrim single-bar models (and obviously much behind the dual-bar models). The reasons have been well-covered by other reviews. As to why I chose the shorter of the two Dahle models in the Personal line, I initially had two concerns with the reviews of the longer one: 1. The 508 18 model appeared to have inconsistent cutting performance in the middle of the bar rather than at its ends, as if the bar was noticeably weaker in the center (perhaps the single-bar design is a bit too weak for this length?) 2. The longer model also seemed to have a spate of reviews complaining of non-square cuts, as if the whole bar itself was not truly perpendicular to the end-pieces I have never owned the 508 18 model so can't say from experience, but the 507 12.5 model does indeed cut straight. Very very straight. Like others, I love the way the 507 automatically holds down the material as the trimmer moves, the great sharpness of its rolling cutting edge, and the sure movement of the trimmer, with the hoped-for result of being able to trim off tiny slivers in a consistent manner. This is impossible with a standard guillotine trimmer (which admittedly can handle much more paper at once) or even an Xacto-like blade (which can't be held to as a consistent a line as with this trimmer). As for concern #2, yep: my 507 did not cut perfectly square out-of-the-box. Holding paper against the top endpiece consistently resulted in maybe half a mm more width at the bottom of the sheet than the top. I was very bummed! However, the 507 (and likely 508) is easily adjustable with a Philips screwdriver. Simply loosen the underside screws holding the plastic endpiece to the center board, rotate it a bit, and tighten the screws. Rinse and repeat as necessary. It took me about 10 mins -- about three tries each -- to get both endpieces straightened to the point that I could trim a visibly square cut with the paper held flush with either endpiece. For what it is -- an upgrade for people using guillotine trimmers or ruler+Xacto knife -- it's bang-on for the money. For anything larger or higher volume, and especially if you want a set-and-forget product, look to the Rotatrim products. Given that I expect my endpiece adjustments to wander over time, I still wonder if I should have paid double for the single-bar Rotratrim equivalent ....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very reliable studio tool This is my second purchase of this particular trimmer. I'd had the first one for almost ten years and never had to sharpen or replace the blade. It worked beautifully on all manner of darkroom and printmaking papers. I let a friend borrow it, who overloaded it with too many pieces of construction paper at once, and broke it. Not beyond usability, but certainly beyond convenience. I'm very pleased to have a new one again, and more pleased that the quality of this product doesn't seem to have deteriorated since my original purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from What I expected Purchased for cutting Epson roll paper for R800 printer. I use the 8.3 x 32' rolls of premium glossy photo paper and make 8.3x11.69 prints and 8.3x12.49 prints (the largest short of panorama that you can make with the Epson R800 printer). The trimmer works very well. Not 100% perfect, but I think one would have to pay several times this price for that. Would I like micro-millimeter accuracy? Yes. Did I expect it with this trimmer? No. But this trimmer is very good.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Dahle Personal Trimmer I really like the Dahle product line. I have a large Professional Trimmer which could not be better. This small model could really benefit from a little more heft to hold it in place when using it. It would also help if there was a wider clear plastic piece to hold the paper in place-- if you hold it with your fingers, there isn't room for the roller to pass by.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must have product I use this to cut out inserts for CD Jewell cases from photo paper. It is by far the best paper cutter I have ever used. It can trim such a small area it is amazing.
