Profoto 331526 overview

  • 1Description

This Profoto Glass Plate for the D1 and B1 Monolights lowers (warms) the color temperature of the light emitted by the D1or B1 by 300K while slightly softening the output. It approximates the use of an 81A filter on a camera lens. Use it if the color temperature of the D1 or B1 is too blue for your preference or assignment requirements. This glass plate is held by 3 clips that are part of the D1 and B1.

Profoto 331526 reviews

Glass Plate for D1 and B1 Monolights (Frosted, Minus 300K) is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the trick, installation a negative. It's not immediately obvious nor are there directions on how to install the plate, but in the end it wasn't that big a deal. With a utility knife I carefully and gently got underneath one of the three clips and pushed it to award the rim. Once the clip cleared the original plate it recessed itself under tension and I could move on to the next one. When the second clip was out of the way it was easy to get under the plate to remove it. Installing this plate happened easily enough that nothing memorable stands out. I would have bigger concerns if I wanted to change plates often, as the process is a bit fraught and best avoided. I got this to compensate for the cooler balance of my D2 500. Now its a good color match with my Acute heads/D4 pack, but not a good match with the Acute's modeling light intensity. Four stars for being too expensive and a bit stressful to install, but you pay for such a thing being available without much of a wait.
