Nearly as versatile as a prime lens can be, the AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G from Nikon is a 52.5mm-equivalent lens for DX-format cameras, and is characterized by its sleek form factor, normal field of view, and bright f/1.8 maximum aperture. The fast design of the lens suits working in difficult lighting conditions and also enables improved control over depth of field for isolating subjects and working with selective focus techniques. The optical design incorporates one aspherical element, which helps to control distortion and spherical aberrations in order to produce notable sharpness and clarity. A Super Integrated Coating has also been applied to individual elements and controls lens flare and ghosting for greater contrast and color accuracy when working in bright and backlit conditions. Complementing the optics is a Silent Wave Motor, which enables fast, near-silent autofocus performance along with full-time manual focus override, to benefit both stills and video recording.

Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G Reviews
nikon 35mm lens
nice lens. very sharp
Beautiful photos
I'm using this with a D500 and UV filter, and the photos come out great. The depth of field really makes a difference when taking portraits, the photos look very professional.
One of my go-to's!
Great lens and is one of my top go-to's for video!
Nice to have a fast lens
I am an occasional shooter and have been using an 18-200mm zoom for everything. I wanted a lens for low light situations and this one is great. The price is reasonable and the performance was just what I wanted. There's a big difference between F1.8 and F4.8 which is what I get from my zoom. My only wish is that the lens was wider (maybe 20 or 25mm).
Nice lens
Needed a prime lens without having to spend a ton. This works well .
Five stars!
Love my new lens and love working with the folks at B&H. They're knowledgeable, prompt in answering your questions, and have very fair prices. There's no better place to shop.
Great nifty-fifty lens
I got this for my D5500 camera, and works very well. I recommend it for an additional lens to the kit lenses.

This is a very good portrait lens.
