Presenting an ultra-wide field of view with advanced perspective and focus control, the TS-E 17mm f/4L is a Canon L-series tilt-shift lens well-suited to architecture and interior photography. Up to +/- 6.5° of tilt is possible, for focus control, and +/- 12mm of shift, to adjust perspective and composition. The tilt-shift mechanism can be rotated +/- 90° for applying movements in any direction, and a tilt-locking mechanism can be used while shooting for greater stability.
question
is the 17mm canon lens compatible with a Nikon d600 full frame body? thanks
The Canon TS-E 17mm f/4L Tilt-Shift Lens is not compatible with Nikon cameras, so you would not be able to use it on the D600.

question
Does this lens come with an instruction manual or just a one page generic instruction sheet that covers all Canon lenses? ( my came with the one page generic sheet)
The lens does not come with an instruction manual. Most manufacturers are only putting manuals onto their website to download instead of printing and shipping them with products.

For Portrait vs Landscape photos, do I need to use the Rotation function to 90 degrees (+- depending on left/right camera rotation)?
No, one does not adjust the mount rotation: +/- 90° on the Canon TS-E 17mm f/4L Tilt-Shift Lens based on shooting orientation. Rotation of the tilt-shift mechanism should be done based on what is needed for the specific composition. This is independent of camera orientation.

Any results with the Canon R5. I've heard that this lens while optimal on Canon mirrored cameras is soft on Canon RF mount cameras?
We have had no reports about any issues using this lens with a lens adapter on Canon RF cameras.

question
Is there anyone out there who has used it on the new Sony Ar7II with the metabones adapter? What is your experience? Sharpness, auto anything work?
Metabones works great, don't forget the Sigma MC-11 that does also a great job! With both adapters there is no vignetting, no loss of sharpness (only a tube, no glass element involved), the 17 TS-E is an all manual lens...no auto nothing.. ; )
I use the Sigma with an Sony A7R2 and that improved a lot the image quality I had from the Canon 5DMK3 files I use to have.. ; )
