Tiffen 62HZE overview

  • 1Description

The Tiffen 62mm UV Haze 1 Filter is a general use, clear filter that helps to absorb ultraviolet light and reduce the bluish cast of daylight. This filter is especially useful when photographing at high altitudes or around bodies of water. No additional coloration or contrast is provided, allowing you to pair this filter with others.

The UV filter is also useful as a general protective filter to leave on lenses at all times. Filters help to reduce dust and moisture from reaching your lens element and provide additional protection in case of drops or situations where scratching could occur.

Tiffen filters are made using ColorCore technology; a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting to precision metal rings.

Absorbs most ultraviolet light and reduces bluish cast of daylight.
Clear filter provides no additional coloration or contrast, allowing you to pair this filter with others.
General protection filter reduces dust, moisture, and scratches from reaching lens elements.

    Tiffen 62HZE reviews

62mm UV Haze 1 Filter is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 49.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Its a filter, enough said. I don't get why people spend a lot of money on UV filters. Digital cameras automatically filter out UV light, so the only reason you would get one would be to protect the front element of your lens. I leave this filter on all the time, except when I'll be shooting into the sun or stage lights. All UV filters, no matter how expensive, will ghost and create internal reflections when shooting into a point of light. Do yourself a favor and don't buy expensive UV filters, the expensive one's aren't any better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product I use the filter on my Sigma 18-200 for protection and for the slight warming effect. I have used Tiffen filters for years and have always been pleased with their performance. Highly recommend the product for peace of mind and lens protection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tiffen Delivers I keep this filter on the lens permanently only to remove it for a thorough cleaning of the lens. I am able to keep my lens cap on with this filter. Its optics are good and it provides great protection for the front lens element.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cheap insurance, but reflects Cheap insurance for your expensive lens. I have a hayes filter on my kit lens, and for some reason this tiffen reflects light into my scene.. i don't get that with a hayes. Still, for the price, great protection for your lens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Protection at its finest Protects the CCD from UV, and my lens from dirt, scratches and anything else that might screw up the optics.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must have I would not use a lens without this. It protects your investment and improves your overall image. I am filming extreme sports and water with gas and oil at times can spray toward you. I can be confidient this filter will save my camera lens. I even have a backup or two for each lens I use. Like I said I would not use the camera without this protecting the lens as well as the image looks great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what we need! While I understand the multi-coatings that are used on higher end filters, I have always used glass filters of this sort and they have never appeared to cause ghosting with the images I take (I don't include the sun in most photos, but when I do I see flare not ghosts). These filters are easy to clean, and do a great job at their true intended function: protect your front element!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Value I bought this filter as a replacement. My last filter shattered after my camera was dropped, however my lens remained intact. Using this filter as an inexpensive protector for your expensive lens really works. Easy to attach, ... great value. I never take the filter off my lens.
