The Tiffen 72mm UV Haze 1 Filter is a general use, clear filter that helps to absorb ultraviolet light and reduce the bluish cast of daylight. This filter is especially useful when photographing at high altitudes or around bodies of water. No additional coloration or contrast is provided, allowing you to pair this filter with others.

The UV filter is also useful as a general protective filter to leave on lenses at all times. Filters help to reduce dust and moisture from reaching your lens element and provide additional protection in case of drops or situations where scratching could occur.

Tiffen filters are made using ColorCore technology; a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting to precision metal rings.

Absorbs most ultraviolet light and reduces bluish cast of daylight.
Clear filter provides no additional coloration or contrast, allowing you to pair this filter with others.
General protection filter reduces dust, moisture, and scratches from reaching lens elements.

72mm UV Haze 1 Filter is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 42.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Tiffen 72 Seems to do the job on my Rokinon 85mm, which is at present the only 72mm lens I own. I don't anticipate using this outdoors much, so a filter with multi coating wasn't as important to me as some of my other lenses. Really just about protection, and it's doing that fine. No problems mounting it, and the Rokinon lens cap seems to stay on this, (barely). But I think the tenuousness of that is due to Rokinon, not the Tiffen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy this product again. It does an adequate job. I use for minimization of UV Haze on a Sony Zeiss 24--70 Variogon Lens. It does and adequate job with no perceived color distortion. The primary function is to protect the very expensive lens. I formerly had this filter on the lens before, and dropped the lens. The filter was destroyed but the lens was not harmed. i think this is well worth the money to protect an expensive lens!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Protects the lens Bought this to fit on the Rokinon 85mm cine lens, and it works fine. I could actually see the yellowish tint on this one but for a longer lens I'm happy with that. Mostly this just protects the lens in case I drop it and so far I haven't done that but I'm sure it will come through.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does its job The UV filter does its job well. While I can't say anything about its UV cutting ability due to not comparing photos with and without the filter, its common/typical purpose of protecting the lens is something it does well. The filter doesn't get smudged easily either.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Basic UV Haze Filter Honestly I do not have a good enough eye yet as a photographer to see the difference btwn using the lens and not using it. However I do know that the UV filter is protecting my lens when I am out doors which is half the reason I got this filter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What you see is what you get This is a great product. I normally purchase Nikon filters for my Nikon lens but decided to purchase the Tiffen Haze Filter. I wasn't dissapointed. The Tiffen Filter was about half the price and I didn't se a difference in photo quality.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's a Filter -- What Do You Want? I don't know what to write about a UV/Haze filter. It's good. It's sturdy. It does the job. I've used Tiffen all my life and they're quality at an affordable price. Plus they're one of the few things still made in the USA.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Clearer Outdoors The effects of this filter make a huge difference in the color and brightness. Cuts down lot of glare and sunlight reflecting back. Sky and grass look more original and saves time in editing and processing.
