Manfrotto Nano Stand Overview

  • 1Description
  • 2Compact, Lightweight, and Quick Setup
  • 3Solid Support
  • 4Standard Top Stud
  • 5Weight Capacity
  • 6Unique Leg Action

Featuring a unique and often imitated design, the lightweight aluminum 5001B Nano Light Stand from Manfrotto is the ideal space-saving support that's especially valuable for shooters on location.

What makes the 5-section stand special are its legs that fold upward to the center column, making the stand's length just 19.3" while weighing just 2 lb. For a small stand, the 5001B Nano has a wide, stable footprint of 39.4". In fact, you can spread the legs wide enough to position the stand flat on the floor. The stand breaks down just as fast as it sets up, while its legs have rubber tips to avoid scratching.

Compact, Lightweight, and Quick Setup

Using a clever reverse folding leg design, the legs unfold quickly for use and fold upward against the center section, bringing the total folded length to just 19.3"

Solid Support

With a maximum height of 6.2', the stand will support lights or other gear weighing up to 3.3 lb

Standard Top Stud

The black anodized stand has a 5/8" top stud topped by a 3/8"-16 thread, which is topped by a removable 1/4"-20 threaded top

Weight Capacity

Despite its size, the bantam stand can support up to 3.3 lb at maximum extension

Unique Leg Action

Instead of limiting leg spread (as most stands do), the rectangular legs can be spread fully, so the stand's 39.4" stable leg spread puts it literally at ground level

I have six of these for use with three different lighting kits. Everything from LitePanels 1x1s to LitePanels Calibers to LitePanels Chromas.

Very light, very small, I wanted to find a stand that would fit nicely in a bag or case with my cameras and flashes. This fit the bill. I plan to use it with a speed light and a Rouge modifier,

My first light stand for my canon speedlite. I could not have asked for a better product for the price. Steady, and strong. Good for Indoor and outdoor.

The small compact size and build quality makes these one of my favorite purchases this year. It's so important for me to have gear that will last for years and is travel friendly and this checks those boxes. Goodbye to those cheap, flimsy stands.

I bought 2 of these about 3 years ago when I started to photograph weddings. In that time, I've used them for not only weddings, but live events and even high school senior sessions. The portability and ease of use of these combined with the MagShoe from MagMod is pretty amazing. Instead of just using the speedlights with the MagSphere, I have also used the MagBox on these stands and it works pretty decently. Would not recommend on a windy day, but it can be done, and I've done it quite a bit. Came here to buy 2 more for more complex lighting setups and such and I know they'll continue to work just as well as the first two. If you're looking for super portable and lightweight light stands, I highly recommend these.

Well made, totally portable.

The loosen and tighten down. But of course, Manfrotto stands on always being well-made, so I can live with the knobs. My goal is to have the most portable equipment I can get my hands on because I believe Covid and its variants may be around for a long long time, so outdoor portraits will replace my live/work studio for now. It's shown with legs flat to the floor, but they fold UPward, and they also spread downward like a normal lightstand. I photograph women, so the 6'2 height is fine with me. I recommend it!

These are great for light weight stands. I would not put a heavy light unit on it. Easy to fold and very stable.

Compact and Useful

I have three of these. They pack away nicely in a small light case and are my go-to's when I have to pack small. The wide feet stabilize what would be a shifty stand otherwise.

can it support S-Type Bracket Bowen Mount?
Asked by: Aishath
It can support a S type bracket. However its rated for 3lbs so you have to be careful about the size of the modifier you use.
