Heil Sound PL2T Reviews
Goodboom
This boom mount does a very good job for the money.
Awful everything
This arrived today. I noticed it was incredibly stiff to open and move, so I put a little WD40 into the joints (which you have to do with the RODE PSA-1 to loosen it up a little). That didn't help the stiffness in any way, and after moving the boom arm up and down a couple of times, one of the poles came right out of the joint including a weird fork shaped piece that I now can't get back in. In addition, the C clamp that came with it has a nut inside the cup that chewed a hole in my desk. This is the kind of quality I'd expect from a $30 Amazon Basics mic arm, not a $100 one from Heil. Save your money, do not buy this product.

Solid, but two flaws
This is a solid mic stand, but the plastic channel used to cover the mic cable pops out so I had to tape it. Also, the springs rattle inside the arm so any time I tap my desk or even type, I get a nifty spring reverb added to my signal. They are closed so I can't muffle them.
Wow this thing is awesome
I have seen some other arms on youtube but when I sw someone using this arm, I checked out the Heil website. After watching their videos, I was sold. This thing is so sweet. It hides the cable entirely for a nice in-frame boom.
It works
Very straightforward to setup, movement is silent, and it has nice hidden cable channels. It even holds my heavy microphone and shock mount with no issues.
First product from B&H that I've ever returned
I ordered two PL2T boom mounts, thinking that they would be great additions to the desk that I purchased; wrong!. The base that comes with this mount is poorly designed for the boom arm that it is supposed to hold in place. The tension is so tight on this boom arm, almost any attempt to adjust the boom arm itself, may cause the boom arm to be pulled out of the base. Decreasing or attempting to decrease the amount of tension in the boom arm unfortunately does not help. I expected this product to be better than the Rode PSA1 boom arm that I already own. I was wrong. Anyone thinking about purchasing this product may want to reconsider, if you're planning on making any adjustments to the boom arm's position.
Pretty darn good
A great value. Hides the cord well. Perfect amount of tension in the joints, expect the silver rod that connects to the mic. I would prefer that was a bit stiffer because it's sometimes difficult to get the mic to stay at the exact angle you'd like. I installed it over head using the Heil Sound WM-1 Wall Mount.
