    Behringer 1002B reviews

    XENYX 1002B - Battery-Operated 10-Channel Audio Mixer is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 23.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Limited Review I have a feeling the mixer will turn out to be a terrific value for the price. However, in my first (and only) use so far, I was disappointed with the results under battery power. I was using a single Beta 87 condenser mic and after a couple of hours the signal became distorted and unusable. When I got home I checked the batteries, expecting to find low voltage on the 9V battery that provides phantom power. To my surprise, that battery read almost a full 9V while the other two (which provide overall power) were both below 8V, and I assume that's what caused the problem. Next time I will use a dynamic mic and see what happens.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for Acoustic Gig Used this at a gig with a Bose L1 PA. We ran an acoustic guitar with a K&K Definity Pickup and Fishman Platinum Stage, an Ibanez acoustic bass with onboard preamp etc, a keyboard in stereo and a miked cajon through the Xenyx (operating on the adapter) into the L1. Vocalist was plugged directly into ch 1 on the Bose. The Xenyx performed wonderfully. It was easy to set up and get running. Light weight and compact which was important because I had to carry the guitar, bass, my gig kit and the Xenyx my self. Needed to set the gain level fairly high for the instruments, but that was not a problem. Have not used it with batteries yet, but I intend to. Recommended.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice little mixer We use this mixing board in our Children's church room. We previously had a Fender Passport system. I didn't like the size of the Passport. So we are now using the XENYX 1002B with a Mackie amp and the passport speakers. It works great. The XENYX 1002B is very quiet. The only thing I not 100% impressed with is the mix coming out of the amp. Since I'm using the passport speakers, that could be the issue. It appears they each have 4 midrange type speakers. The passport controller may make up for this by increasing the amount of treble/bass. I'm adding an EQ this week to see if it makes a difference.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great audio for video mixer I bought this mixer to mix several wireless mics and audio feeds prior to inputting into my camera. I like the 5 XLR inputs included on the mixer and the multiple outputs. It can be used with AC or battery power which is helpful when shooting on locations not having AC power. I own several other Behringers and they are reliable, quality units.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great for me I am using the mixer with my Zoom H4n to record sound for videos. The price is right and I like that it can be run on battery power.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a great little mixer! Using in a computer recording setup. Beautiful design with controls laid out properly. Very compact for computer desk use...yet has all the facilities I need. I'm a retired radio broadcaster who does occasional voice work. Behringer makes a great product that sounds excellent and does what it's supposed to do.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost a 5...blame the Phantom. First, the pros: Almost everything. 5 XLR mic inputs, linear slide level controls, input trims, pan pots, monitor and FX send, etc...all for less than a hundred bucks! Cons: Phantom is underpowered. Rated output is 24v when mixer is powered by AC and only 18v when battery operated. While this will power some condenser mics, it doesn't handle some mics that require the full 48v phantom power. My Rode NTG-2 doesn't work with this mixer but some others (mostly Behringers) do. I've briefly tested the mixer on batteries and it seems ok but I need to do further tests. I also wish the battery compartment was more easily accessible. Maybe a thumbscrew instead of a Philips screw. I don't always carry a screwdriver. I always have fingers. But all in all a great value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Mixer I just got my mixer, and took it ou of the box. It has great audio quality, and I love the fact tat it is portable and non expensive. The only thing I dont like is, you have to set it own on a table, and you can not put it in an audio bag.
