I found this cap fits VERY well on the new Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 180-400mm f/4E TC1.4 FL ED VR lens. What do you think?
I have used it on Nikon 300 mm F2.8 VRII and 200-400 F4 VRII as well. I love it in that I believe it adds an additional layer of protection vs the soft case Nikon gives with the lenses.
