    Sennheiser ew 100-ENG reviews

ew 100 ENG G3 Wireless Microphone Combo System - A (516-558 MHz) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 151.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for small cameras! I am doing a lot more wireless work without the benefit of having a two person crew. Although I was not 100% sure that this unit would hold up under professional use- simple put, it does! I am using this unit hot shoe mounted on a HVX-200, I have used both the body pack and plug style transmitters in RF nightmare locations with great results. The range is good, the user menu is not totally intuitive, but I got through it. It is a lot better constructed than it appears at first glance, not all plastic. Also a huge plus is the battery life- I have been able to shoot all day with a regular set of AA batteries, not even lithium- this is huge! Great find for the price point.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing product, misleading marketing I've been using this mic kit for over a month now, and am very satisfied overall. Once I realized that the single receiver included in the kit doesn't work for both transmitters simultaneously. This would be good for someone who never needed to use them at the same time but I'm not one of those lucky people. I had to purchase another transmitter/receiver kit (which was a mere $ more than the bodypack transmitter alone). The gear is great! The marketing/packaging could be clearer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I hear what you are saying I have used these microphone systems for many years now and they continue to amaze me. I use the hot shoe set up for my EFP cameras and the hand-held adapter for condenser microphones and to create wireless mixers all the time. I have yet to have one of these systems fail me. I have presenters who like to twist wires while they speak, and have had one ME2 fail in the past eight years. I only had to replace the ME2 wire, the transmitter is still working. I'm planning on ordering eight more of these systems this year!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Commonly used for a good reason. They just plain work. High quality audio and good signal strength. I've used these in various environments and never had a problem with interference. I work in Los Angeles, a place that is going to have a ton of possible signals to cause trouble with wireless mic packs. Just make sure you use the auto scanning feature in each different location and these packs will find the most clear frequency for you to use. It's really simple to do, so take the extra 2 minutes and do it right. Also, the included Pelican case perfectly fits everything for these two mics, I probably would have bought a larger case if I bought separately, and I would have been upset that it was too big. Very happy with it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sennheiser G3-A Cost-Effective Solution An excellent, flexible piece of gear. We've used the system in a number of locations, although, not in large cities where more interference might occur. Sennheiser has a terrific service on their website that shows all FCC-listed transmitters on the frequencies used by the G3, so you can choose ones that are clear. And, there are a lot of frequency choices. My only very slight criticism is the response of the lavalier mic. It's a bit tubby to my ears, but easily fixed by applying eq. And there are other mics you can pair with the transmitter. I like the fact that a hand-held transmitter is also included. We'll add another receiver to our HD shooting package so we can use both transmitters simultaneously.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well Rounded Sound This system has proven itself over and over; I started with a simple test by having the Volleyball coach from my university wear the lavaliere mic to see what the range was on the microphone and also if this system would work for me. After reviewing the footage, I have found the microphone was able to pickup not only the coach but also whoever she was talking to. This was the same for when I filmed a pheasant hunt in South Dakota. After reviewing my footage, the hunter was very impressed with how far away the hunter was able to be while also still being able to capture audio. If you are looking for a set it and forget it system, this is what you need. It functions to its full capacity right out of the box.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rugged & Reliable I've been using the G3 100 series for the past three years for my work as a television cameraman in the Middle East and Africa. This is a nearly perfect product. Great sound, rugged construction, and the batteries seem to last forever. I own a much more expensive wireless kit, but find myself using the G3 100 series instead

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid Performer - No Phantom Power! I purchased a pair of these G3's to replace an older set of ew500 packs. The smaller size/lighter weight is great, as is the longer battery life and use of less expensive AA batteries. They are reasonably simple to use and I like the feature to scan for clear frequencies and IR pairing for the transmitter. My two disappointments: No phantom power on the plug-in transmitter. It's my fault for not noticing before buying, but how in the world does it make sense to leave this off? Antennas are soldered onto the circut board, which means when they are inevitably damaged, the entire pack has to be disassembled. With old 'ew' series, the antennas had a screw terminal and could be replaced in about 15 seconds.
