Expand your shooting capabilities and range with this Sony DT 55-200mm f/4-5.6 SAM Lens. Designed for APS-C format cameras, it provides an 82.5-300mm equivalent focal length that lets users capture distant subjects with ease. The lens also uses a variable maximum aperture of f/4-5.6 to keep size and weight to a minimum while an extra-low dispersion element helps combat aberrations. Sony DT 55-200mm f/4-5.6 SAM Reviews
Light but not Sharp
This lens doesn't have full compatibility with A77M2 and A99M2.
This lens is great. I can have a brighter image at a greater zoom without having to raise the ISO a lot, and can capture things much further away. Good focusing abilities too.
Price is Right for quality zoom
I bought this 55-200mm to compliment my 18-55mm kit lens. This covers a full range with just two lenses. This is not a premier lens but fits the bill with photographers on a budget. I recommend this lens to other budget minded individuals.
Excellent lens and great value!
I got this to go with my a330. It's very responsive to focus and takes great pictures. It wasn't expensive at all, but performs like it was twice the price. We take photos at a nearby lake, and this lens is great for both close up and distance. And it doesn't feel cheap at all.
nice all around lens
This lens will allow you to shoot photos from a normal range to subjects at a distance.
Its simple, cheap, and good to learn
Like i said, very good to learn, because its cheap and simple. But i had some limitations on low ligh( like night fotos even in darkest shadows...)
I got my kid a sony with 2 lens in high school, this was one of them. She got so many great shots with this lens! She has got a great student job shooting campus photos including sporting events. For a young person this lens is not only affordable but really expands their options.
Very Good Telephoto Lens
I love this lens. It is great to be able to take good photos of far away things. It is also pretty fast, to get to 55 mm at f4.0 is good for using in low light. When pointed at nearby objects, it often cannot focus on the object and has a very shallow depth of field.
