    Smith-Victor PL03CS reviews

PL03CS Extra Large Cordura Soft Case with Wheels is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from BIG BAG Wow this is a big bag. Even though I read the dimensions before I bought it seeing it in real live is just.. wow. All aside this bag holds a lot of stuff. Here is what I was able to fit: 4 light stands, 4 lights, 4 diffusers, a tripod, power cords, adapters, and chroma key background and poles. All in all by the time I was done packing this bag weighed about 50 lbs. No joke. It holds that much stuff. The only downside to this is that you may need to purchase some foam if you are caring lights because the front facing side is rather flimsy and if thrown around(If anyone could lift the thing) in an airport it could cause same damage.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perhaps a tactical error The PL03CS is a great, big soft case. I am able to fit all of my location gear in it. That's three White Lightning mono lites w/ three stands, (two are 13-footers), radio remotes, filters, grids, barndoors, umbrellas, a medium Octodome and even a Manfrotto tripod. Thing is, even with wheels, the thing is freaking heavy! I'm a 200lb guy, not small, but the thing still needs to be lifted into and out of my truck. Now I find myself taking lights out and going back to using my smaller case and stand bag. At least everything can now be stored together. But it is a fine product for all that. Sturdy and well-made.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well made, good size, but a bit heavy I use the case to transport and store can lights used for live musical performances. The case is just barely large enough to hold two rack of 4 can lights each, as well as the stands, cords, etc., but it all fits in. The case is much heavier than I expected, and I'm concerned that the amount of weight I have in the case may take its toll on the zippers, handles, etc., with frequent use. It seems quite sturdy at this point, and it should hold up fine, but when fully loaded down, it's going to be a little tough for one person to lift. The wheels are a great addition, and they seem quite durable. Overall a very good product at a reasonable price.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Holds everything I was looking for a case that would hold full size light stands as well as my 4 monolight strobes. This case is very large and will hold just about all the equipment you would need for a location shoot. I would not put this case in checked baggage for air trips, you would need a much more expensive case for that. For around town or car trips it is fine. It can get very heavy with all the gear inside. Be sure to load the heavy objects toward the end with the wheels which are hard rubber and seem sturdy I'm only giving 3 stars because I've only had the case a few weeks and cannot say how it will hold up with heavy use. It seems fairly well built but certainly not like some of the $500-$700 cases. It will work for what I needed. I like the full size zippered pocket on the outside of the top lid for soft boxes/umbrellas and there are two more zipper pockets on the inside of the lid.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good bag. Heavy I waited until I had used this bag a few times to write a review. I pack several LED lights, 3 stands, a boom arm, V-mount batteries, NPF-970 batteries and sometimes AC adapters in this bag. Make sure you fasten all the straps for rigidity and the thing holds up to lifting and transporting despite it's soft structure. Speaking of lifting...the thing is HEAVY. Loaded up it takes a lot of strength to pick it up into a vehicle. In fact, just carrying it empty or mostly empty is more than some people could manage. The wheels make it very manageable, but the lifting is still tough. My conclusion: if you need one bag to pack a lot, then this one will get it done and is a great price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect size for portable studio This bag fit all my studio equipments with room to spare. I carry 3 Alienbees, 3 light stands, one large softbox, one large octobox, reflector, vegabond mini and there's room for a fourth alienbees if I need along with cables. It's heavy when fully loaded but having wheels help with moving this bag. Now I don't have to have multiple bags for all my lightings.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Holds a three light set up and travels! I am an Event photographer that travels to the location , this addition is my fourth of these excellent roller cases. I can carry three manfroto 11ft stacker stands, a 4x6 soft box, a strip box for hair light, and a large octodome for a fill, along with a 42x72 bounce...the bag holds three photogenic power lights: 2-PL1250DRC and 1-PL2500DRC...4-pocket wizards and their caddys, necessary power cords and extension cords needed for each set up along with a tool kit and spare/repair parts, extra flash tubes, and fuses...everything is carefully packed and configured with the adjustable inserts and provides each photographer with a self contained kit for the night...an excellent piece of gear and a tremendous value! Highly recommend this roller case....it's a soft case perfect for car or truck/van travel but not appropriate for turning over to baggage at the airport...this case cut my set up time at the job to less than 1-hour!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Big bag but not quite travel worthy While this bag is big and includes dividers and such, it's probably not adequate for airline travel. The frame is not that sturdy and the pull handle is not very solid, secured only to the canvas. It has no pull out handle or framing. I'll probably just use it for lighter equipment on local shoots or storage here in the studio. The better option is probably a golf travel bag from ... or other golf equipment retailer.
