The ER-20 ETY-Plugs Triple-Flange Earplugs with Cord (Large, Clear/White) from Etymotic are a compact and inexpensive way to reduce sound levels around you, while still maintaining the ability to hear clearly. Ideal for use by musicians and those who work in loud environments such as parades, motor sports, and athletic events, these high-fidelity earplugs reduce sound by up to 20dB across all frequencies.

By reducing sound evenly, the earplugs reduce the risk of hearing damage, but also keep music and speech clear and natural, not muffled. The earplugs are configured to replicate the natural response of the ear canal so that sound comes through exactly as it should, only quieter. The earplugs come with a convenient neck cord and storage case.

    Etymotic Research ER-20 reviews

    ER-20 ETY-Plugs Triple-Flange Earplugs with Cord (Large, Clear/White) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 25.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from must have for everyone Do yourself a favor, buy a few of these and put them with your going out stuff so you don't ever forget them. These are crucial for nightclubs and parties. You can still talk to people and the music still sounds good, you're just cutting back on the excess that will damage your hearing. I was a nightclub once with no protection and my ears didn't stop rigning for 3 days (usually it's less than one day). I was so scared that they would ring forever. Never again without these! Even if you don't like to wear them, bring them along for the part of the party that has lousy music, you don't want to damage your hearing for bad music.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from a must have as i find myself at concerts almost nightly, i carry around a pair of these in my pockets literally at all times. for the price, i do not think these can be beat. they protect your ears and you can wear them for a long time with little discomfort. they keep the music sounding good as well. little muffle, but well worth it. i have flown overseas with these in for most of the plane ride with just a bit of discomfort. if you have trouble getting them in, just wet your fingers, moisten the ear plug and they slide right in. for smaller ear canals, check the baby blues. i have know some adults who could not fit the full size ear plugs in. these make a great gift. baby blues especially. protect the little ones hearing, please.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Concert Plugs I was going to be photographing a concert at a near by college and didn't feel like loosing my hearing. I didn't think that the price pint would lead to much but I was totally wrong. I could hear spoken words from nearby people nice and clear. The music came through as well, but at the end of the night I didn't have a headache or any loss of hearing. As a test (standing near the stage center) I did pull them out to hear the difference, wow....I put them right back in. I guess you get used to it. But if you need your hearing..get these! I've used foam earplugs in other situations and I can really only hear my own voice, with these it's like a second eardrum, but with the volume turned down.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Listening comphortable, but ears sore I wanted to use these plugs in noisy crowds where it is hard to hear what people are saying, but found that they did not help me distinguish friends voices from the crowd hum. The plugs were most effective at concerts, as protection from intense loud music without most of the muffling that occurs with other plugs. The carrying case seals well and seems durable. Getting the plugs in correctly was a bit of a challenge and I found that my ear canal felt a little raw after using them. Although they are the only earplugs that do what they claim, the ten dollar price tag seems ridiculous considering how little it must cost to produce them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well to mask the drummer I'm a keyboard player and usually get stuck next to the drummer. The cymbals were driving me crazy and leaving me with ringing ears after every practice. These really help. Case is nice. Case and plugs fit in pocket easily. These appear to be identical to the Hearos except for the case and packaging. These are almost too much to wear on-stage. I tried both during a show, but could not get enough sound and switched to using one only on the drummer side.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Hearing Protection Over the years my hearing has paid the price being damaged by loud live rock music. I can't afford to loose anymore of my hearing. These Etymotic's are a great solution, allowing you to still hear the music while protecting your ears from high DB levels. You can pull them slightly in or out of your ear canal to adjust the volume to your liking. I always bring a pair to live music shows, just in case. A truly great product. B&H has the best price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Value I use these earplugs for band practice and at concerts. These reduce volume to a very comfortable level. The frequency response is good, there is a slight muffle effect/loss in presence, but it's much better than other earplugs I've used. Honestly, the price for earplugs of this quality is a steal. I'm very happy with this product. If It had a perfectly flat frequency response, it would have received 5 stars, but I know that's wishful thinking.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Quality, Great Value I was skeptical about these earplug when I first got them, but after trying them, I can say with confidence they work even better than advertised. I can hear all the highs and lows crisply and clearly, and nothing sounds muddy or washed out. Excellent buy!
