Panasonic 14-140mm Overview

The Panasonic Lumix G Vario HD 14-140mm f/4.0-5.8 ASPH/MEGA O.I.S. Lens has an amazing focal range coupled with silent focus and electronic aperture adjustments, making this lens perfectly suited for all photo and video applications. Adopting the Micro Four Thirds System standard, the lens offers a wide and long zoom range that is equivalent to 28mm to 280mm on a full frame camera. This will suit a large variety of shooting situations, from scenery to portraits or telephoto shots, in a compact and lightweight body.

The lens uses four aspherical lenses and two ED lenses to achieve dramatic downsizing despite its powerful 10x optical zoom, while minimizing distortion and chromatic aberration. Panasonic's Mega O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer) suppresses the blurring that is commonly caused by hand-shake, making it easy to shoot clear shots even at telephoto range or in dimly lit places without using a tripod.

Panasonic 14-140mm Reviews

Very bad for video shooting

This lens has the worst stabilizing system ever... Do not think about shooting in an handeld mode, it would be horrible... The focus system is also disgusting. The focus does not stay ok when you zoom in or zoom out. Worst, the circle to make the focus is so close to the zoom circle that you feel lucky when you don't change your focus during zooming. In 4K, you're the luckiest man ever if you can keep the point during a shooting... I do not advice videomaker to buy this lens...

Not the fastest lens but built quality is nice and lightweight. It compliments my GH4 nicely as an all around run and gun lens set up. Great for outdoors but wouldn't recommend for indoors shooting without flash.

Great all around lens

I love this lens on my Black Magic Pocket Cinema camera. great coverage with just one lens. the aperture will change during zooms and its very noticeable. It works very well once I find a distance to shoot though. all the focus and aperture works well with my BMPCC. you will not get focus assist as this is an active mount and the focus button is for actual focus. IS works very well. I have had very few out of focus clips with this lens. For the price is is my go to lens. I would like the 2.8 but this has a better overall range that can't be beat. this is the older version and is WELL worth the price it is now.

hi I wanted to purchase this lens for my DJI inspire 2 X5s I went to the compatibility list in DJI copy and past the lens specification to B&H Web site, this lens came in the results - I ordered it after getting this lens tried it 4 days after arriving-- and this lens is not working well , after digging, apparently B&H site didn't Gave me to right lens I called customer services- they are nice always but since I didn't had the box I couldn't return it .. I understand that there is no option to return without original box - but B&H maybe you will have in the future compatibility list for X5s in your website so next time customers can buy and be sure they are buying the right lens

Typical solid kit lens

This came bundled with a Lumix G7 I got last year. It's an inexpensive, not especially fast lens for use on a MF3 camera, and yeah, it doesn't offer shallow DOF or super-crisp autofocus. But I found it quite sharp, even wide open, and nice image quality generally. I used it on a video shoot soon after getting it and was pleased with the results. I think for either a casual shooter or someone who wants to do serious work on a budget this would be a perfectly adequate lens. There are workarounds for its limitations, but the basic quality you need is there IMHO.

A Tradeoff of Resolution For Amazing Coverage - worth it

Use on my Olympus 4/3 cameras. Have found that the Lumix better lenses are frequently superior dollar for dollar than the Olympus ones. This lens is well made and is smaller and lighter than the one it replaced. It is my go to lens for street shooting because it covers so much ground (28 - 280mm in 35 terms). Resolution can be an issue but it's easy for me to fix in the computer when processing.

Small and Light Weight, but not better than first version

I like that it's very light weight and physically smaller than the first generation of this lens, but it's not better optically in my opinion and if you don't need the size difference, then the first generation is just as good if not slightly better than this version.

question

How long will the GH5 or the GH5S record. I have a GH4, and the clips are only 6 to 7 minutes. I want to purchase a GH5 or 5S, but when doing multicam on the Avid, it is a pain?
Asked by: Tim H.
The GH5 and GH5S do not have a record limit. You can record as long as the memory card and power option will allow.

question

Is it international warranty?
Asked by: Kok Kit C.
If you are referring to the original Panasonic warranty, then no, it is not valid internationally. Panasonic cameras distributed by Panasonic USA include a 1-Year Limited Warranty from Panasonic valid in the United States and Puerto Rico only. The link below is the link to Panasonic's warranty terms.ftp://ftp.panasonic.com/camera/warranty/2001_camera_warranty.pdfIf you are an international customer and purchasing the Panasonic Lumix G Vario 14-42mm f/3.5 -5.6 Asph. / MEGA O.I.S. Lens, then I would recommend purchasing one of the SquareTrade Extended Coverage Protection Plans we offer after clicking the blue Add To Cart button on our website. After clicking the blue Add To Cart button, the extended coverage protection plans avaialble will be listed, which usually include a 2-Year Drops & Spills Protection Plan, a 3-Year Drops & Spills Protection Plan, and a basic 3-Year Protection Plan (no drops & spills protection). All of the options would offer international protection for customers outside the United States.
