    Tascam CD-200 reviews

CD-200 Rack Mount CD Player is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 26.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Simple Rackmount CD Player Not Many Features This unit was purchased for use in a mobile PA system. It fits within the 19 rack width flight case I bought and the fit and finish are nice, it doesn't look cheap. This unit has basic playback controls: rewind, stop, play/pause, fast forward as well as a play mode button which allows continuous playback or shuffle. Beyond these there is a repeat button which allows you to repeat a single track or playback all once the end of the CD has been reached. The Pitch knob allows you to slow down or speed up the playback of a song if you need it. This unit unlike others will only accept CD's so if you were hoping for an auxiliary input choose a different model.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great CD Player. This product was quick and easy to setup. It was integrated into our media center and playing CDs within 4 mins. Sounds great! This unit also has a variable pitch selector which can be helpful in learning music outside of the original key. Great for musicians and vocalist alike. The equipment is surprisingly heavy duty. It looks and feels like it was made to take a beating. The sound quality is great. I'm totally happy with it and would recommend it to a driend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Hi End Could Be A Bit Better My 10 year Nakamichi MB-10 recently stopped working and I decided to replace rather than repair. I had known of TASCAM products for many years but the price was always higher than I wished to spend. WIth the recent price drop in some of these products I recently bought a TASCAM CD-RW900SL and am quite satisfied with its recording capability. I decided to buy the TASCAM CD-200 as a companion unit. The transport in the CD-200 seems to be quite well rated in various forums and reviews I have read. The front panel controls are just what I need and no more than that, which I find a good feature. I don't need a zillion features that I will never use. Clean, simple and functional layout. The audio quality has a nice smooth bass but I am just slightly disapointed with the high end. My Nak that I replaced with this unit had a 24 bit DAC, the TASCAM has a 16 bit DAC. I am wondering if this is what makes the difference in the high end ? I am going to research external DACs and see if that will help, as the CD-200 has digital outputs for an external DAC. As this is being marketed as a pro unit, I am looking forward to many years of use from it. Overall, the sound is pleasing when playing all digitally recorded CD's but I feel is lacking a bit on the high end with older material that was transferred to CD. I like a little headroom with the high end. Other than the exception noted, I am happy with this unit in the first few weeks I have had it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Analog Sound After spending many dollars on audiophile CD players I decided to try something different. This is an excellent player with a very analog sound. Nice smooth drive tray. The only thing I do not care for is the very bright and a little hard to read display. But the great sound quality more than makes up for it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good value, but sonically not impressive This is a nice basic CD player that has robust construction, great UI and a nice transport. In terms of the sound, it's very clear and transparent with excellent treble, but lacks bass extension and weight. Probably best used as a basic transport, bypassing the built-in analog output stage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bullet-proof pro CD player Our church puts lots of wear and tear on CD players, accessing rehearsal tracks ... probably 50+ track accesses per week. We couldn't find a more capable unit at any price -- especially one as ruggedly constructed, feature-rich without being loaded with gimcracks as so many other Japanese audio products are. HIGHLY recommended!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent quality and simple to use The product will be used in a church setting. We love the product because it is easy to use and is functional and has a very high quality output. The only drawback is it only has a single RCA output. Would like for there to be multiple outputs such as 1/4 in, XLR and or CA.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Totally enjoy the new version I owned the previous version and I truly enjoy the new features on the new one. I own a fitness club and the music tempo has to be just right and with the old, I had to stop, open and then press the pitch control, now it works without stopping the CD
